Despite Elkhorn’s troubles, the residential district offered a peek into the more peaceful times of the city; at least amongst the sections that were still in use – whether it be due to time, work, money, or relations; many of the city’s populace had stayed in their homes even after the emergence of the Horrors. Even with the IACSB’s pressure on the citizens to evacuate, with so many pressures of their own lives escape couldn’t be the highest priority for all involved. But, tonight it almost seemed like the beasts didn’t exist; at least in this section of the district. It was a quiet one, and somewhat on the outskirts of the populated area, but still a bastion of everyday life amongst the chaos that saturated the city’s hub.
But tonight, that chaos might be taking a quick tour of the area. While the moon hung above, awash in the clouds of the early evening, the fizz of magic and the remnants of a scuffle hung above one of the almost-abandoned motels of the district. Lights flickered across the building’s rooms while silhouettes of figures ducked up and down and all around the rooms and floors – no doubt there was some organisation involved, but it certainly didn’t seem like any kind of formal operation. The activity was unmistakable, though… was it courtesy of a hint of panic, or was some particular work at hand? It would remain to be seen.
As they thoroughly lacked the organisation and formality used by the IACSB or the Church, the representatives of the Magician’s Guild were left to their own devices to appear on the scene. As usual, the briefing had been simple – clean up and report any infringements found. Any work of value could be recorded and reused, while any troubling findings could be reported or just swept out of the way. The Guild would never advocate unsafe research into Horrors at this point, but… that didn’t mean the work had no merits in their eyes. And besides… surely with the proper precautions it could be useful. But, anyone with those proper precautions simply wouldn’t let themselves be caught, so it all worked out in their book. An enforcer’s job was not truly to prohibit such work, but instead to clean away the blemishes of amateurs, radicals, antagonists… and possibly worst of all; anyone who could blame the Guild for any of the above.
At least tonight the trio of Guild members could enjoy being relatively free of such moral quandaries, though; as there was doubtlessly trouble brewing with such a pitiful operation as the motel-come-lab and its gang-like members. The trio were to meet in an alley nearby – there was no one to enforce such claims besides whomever of the trio who wrote the group’s report afterwards. Or so ought to be the case… yet, a keen pair of eyes courtesy of the Guild watched on from the shadows. For better or worse? Well, it would surely be a little more exciting, at least.

It seemed the guild had come to at least have some measure of trust for my sister after having vouched for her, as was evidenced by their allowing her to come along on this case in particular. Along with us was the young kindred who I helped join the guild quickly, Kursten. This worked perfectly considering I had wanted to introduce him to my sister in the first place. If I believed in things like fate or destiny, this would indeed be an instance I could point to to show that it was indeed something that held sway over our lives.
They had met during the briefing, but it was brief and there were no real introductions as the whole ordeal was as informal as most guild briefings tended to be, giving us our target, what our goals were, and not too much about how we would achieve those goals. Operational freedom was the modus operandi of the guild, so long as we got the job done, it wasn't as much of an issue as to how it happened, which was something in particular that I liked about the guild. They didn't ask too many questions, which was something I had come to appreciate in my time as Kindred.
Deciding to start off the conversation with introductions before moving on to the strategy of our endeavor, I began to speak. "Amy, this is Kursten, a fellow Strigoi who recently came back into the fold with the guild after being gone to ground for a while much like I was. Kursten, this is my dear sister Amythyst who I mentioned to you before, she is of House Sanguineus. I am glad that chance has aligned for you two to meet each other, though it is a bit unfortuante that it was under these circumstances," I added, adding a hook to segue into the more pressing topic.
"As for the mission at hand, I believe our best option to complete our mission is likely to storm the place as suddenly as possible and take them by surprise. However, it is best if we leave them with their lives so we can apprehend them and question them. I can knock them out for a long time safely once they are safely incapacitated, so they shouldn't render us any problem after that. Remember, try not to disturb the scene if possible, destruction of evidence in this kind of case is quite detrimental into figuring out what exactly was happenign here," I said, pausing for a second before finishing.
"Do either of you have any suggestions on how we go about this>"

So close, and yet so far. Elkhorn was the very reason a certain vampire traveled across the ocean - a harrowing task for one of the kindred to be certain - yet she was stuck playing bodyguard. It was enough to put her on the edge. Had she still been alive, her fingers would have grown cold from the way she clenched her fists. Thankfully, that was not a concern anymore. Still, she had hoped that the rogue finger twirler would be courteous enough to hang themselves to save them all the time. The bastard had three vampires on his case, one of whom would rather spend her time exploring this forsaken place. It would not have been so bad, if the Guild could find better things to investigate.
On the bright side of things, the city lived up to its reputation. Paranoia was thick in the air and their every step was followed by wary eyes and whispered rumors. Amy could not quite see them and she could not hear them, but she did not have to. They were there, and she knew it. This city was a war zone. She couldn't wait until this little chore was over, and she could test her skills on the monsters this place had to offer. Additionally, this was still paying work that let her stay close to her elder sister. The former was better than doing odd jobs, and the latter was just the cherry on top.
Speaking of the elder sister, Ruby once again took the liberty of introducing her to the other members of the group. Or member, as their group only had three members. The younger sister frowned slightly - she could introduce herself. Hell, she was old enough to introduce her grandchildren, if she had any. Nevertheless, she gave the man a shallow nod. "Good evening, sir Kursten. Kursten." Amethyst looked thoughtful for a second, she floated towards her blue haired comrade with a bright smile. Planting her feet directly in front of him with a genuinely curious expression of her face, she continued with an expectant tone. "So Kursten, huh? Isn't that quite a curious name for a boy? Did your parents have something against you?"
Having decided that it wasn't quite the time for serious matters, Amy was ignoring her sister's attempts to keep them on task. They could bore her to death after some fun. The scion of House Sanguineus did not think that a lone finger waving fool was enough of a threat to be considered a proper hunt. She would have to be convinced otherwise before she would be serious about this mission. Without waiting for a reply, she pressed Kursten for more answers. "Oh! Do you happen to be from Romania? Spent a few months there with the lads. Good hunting... good hunting." Nostalgia was obvious in the tone of her voice. "Almost lost my arm there. Bloody good fun. I should go back there one day, when everyone stops being a stickler for law and all that piffle."
With a relatively thoughtful laugh, Amethyst swung her massive rifle over her shoulders and waited for a response. They had around a minute before she completely lost interest.

Research and study was king to those who sought to study magic. Generally, an anything-goes policy was respected in order to facilitate this, and for a great deal of matters, any deviations or crimes that would result from it would get a blind eye turned to it, or swept under the rug if one was particularly connected. The fact that this one wasn't, that an enforcement order was placed...was pretty clear evidence that this person had gone too far. The order had been to erase evidence of incompetence, but the fact that I had heard anything about this meant that this was likely to end up being scorched earth.
I sigh. At least I had decent company for this grim business. Ruby Boivin, the Kindred of my house that had accepted me into the Mage's Guild, and was something of a initiator into the Kindred considering my less than adequate accompaniment with my Sire. She takes the mediator role fairly quickly, and I'm perfectly willing to go along with it. “A pleasure to meet you, Amethyst. Ruby has told me a bit about you, and I'm happy to make your acquaintance at la-”
My pleasantries are drowned underneath her rash of questions and observations, and a less sharp person might have easily been overwhelmed by it. There was little rhyme or reason to it...yes, it was clear she was quite different from her sister. I laugh at her insinuation that my parents had it out for me...though the last time I saw them might have made her right. “My parents had a penchant for irony, I'll agree. Please don't think too badly of them, though.”
I couldn't help being somewhere in the middle of Ruby and Amethyst's twin goals. While I wanted to get this job accomplished and over with...there was a natural desire to prolong it, and Amethyst's playful antics were somewhat endearing in that regard. I sigh audibly. Though I was, appearance-wise, the eldest by far, they were both far more accustomed to life than I was. Being reminded of my immaturity was as sobering as always.
“I'm afraid not. I was born in Czechoslovakia...or Slovakia now, after the breakup...it's quite hard to keep track of such things, I'm afraid.” I smile, attempting to shift focus from my lapse. “The hunting is rather nice there, though. I'd be happy to show you sometime when it becomes convenient.”
'Hm. Hunting would probably be good for you. Might make you slightly less soft.' Ravi makes her position quite clear, and I grimace a bit at the interruption.
'Perhaps. But animals are simply animals.'
'One day you'll accept that you're an animal like all the others. I hope it's liberating for you.'
Inwardly sighing at Ravi's prodding, I turn to Ruby. Enough procrastination. “I agree with your proposal, Ruby. Trying to attack with more stealth would only delay things in their favor. A sudden strike will allow us to bring our full strength to bear and likely overwhelm them...I don't believe that a mage would fully prepare for an assault from three of us.”

While it seemed the motel flickered with activity, the trio were certainly still undercover – whatever was going on there took clear priority over security at the moment. That being said, a keen observer would at least be able to notice that there were weapons on hand. Only small arms; predominantly pistols; but something to be aware of… the outfits involved were rather underwhelming, though; with little consistency amongst the members – assumedly it was an independent operation. From passing observation, the trio might be able to recognise three… four, perhaps, individuals moving about. But, they did seem a bit on-edge. But, the vampires’ conversation would be promptly interrupted before they could continue; let alone begin to take on the job at hand – their observer had something to say. ”Come on now, don’t get cocky, mon villain.”Wings spread, Vivian would gently drift down from above the alley; having been hidden over the rooftops – it’d been a pain to catch the trio through their sounds alone, but it’d kept her well out of sight, so it worked out for her. Shame about the company, though… those two again? Well, at least she knew how to read them. Thankfully, the succubus was dressed in her human form’s clothing rather than her more traditional dress despite her current state – she didn’t quite want to be that distracting, for once. ”Good evening, everyone; dear Amy, her little sister, and a suave young lad… I hope I haven’t interrupted a date, hm? I didn’t know vampires were keen on sharing, though…~” mused Vivian playfully; casting Kursten a curious glance – and perhaps a wink, if he was paying attention. ”I heard you were on the job here… well, I had plans of my own, but they went a bit sour, so I’ll leave the rest up to you. But, I thought I might be able to lend a little hand in my own way.”Giving a shrug, it wasn’t quite clear whether Vivian’s apparent carelessness was just her being playful or genuine as she continued to talk. ”Eh, well… I’ll admit I made a bit of a mess there. Unbecoming of a lady, right? If you heard about any infernal business lately, then that’s mostly my fault… I had a bit too much initiative, right? But, I did get a bit done – I might have done a bit of recon, might have even unlocked some doors and windows, or might have done a bit of prior magical analysis work… unfortunately, the Guild doesn’t want to hear a word of it if I’m on the case.””But, if my work happened to be exempt from your report… well, then maybe I might be able to share it with the real heroes of tonight. I don’t have any doubts in your skills, but a little helping hand might be nice, right? I heard that Professor Boivin is good at working with daemons anyhow, so surely this would be in her purview?” With a nod to Ruby, Vivian gave her usual beguiling smile – well, at least she was being cooperative this time, if in her own roundabout way. ”I don’t want to call it a deal or something so droll, but… how does that sound? You clean me and my magic out of the report, and I’ll make your lives a bit easier. It’s no skin off your back in the end; getting my work mixed up with the kids down there won't help the Guild at all… and being on a devil’s good side is good business, isn’t it?”

Great this was just going absolutely fantastically. My sister, while I loved her dearly, was being as uncooperative as she usually was when she was not interested in the subject matter at hand, and it seemed like Kursten was going to humor the girl. However, luckily while he did for a little bit, he quickly got back to the matter at hand, agreeing to my proposal to go in and try to take them out immediately without giving them any chance for reprisal. This was good, everything was getting back on track except....then SHE showed up. Before I had time to get on with our planning and scout out what was happening, I heard THAT woman's distinctive voice and use of gratuitous french and I knew, even before she came down into sight, who it was and I gave an audible sigh and rubbed my temples.
Listening to the rather boisterous succubus was giving me a massive headache. First, she couldn't even remember which one of us was the older sister it seemed, and on top of that she seemed to be insinuating we were on a date of some kind. As far as I had experienced, we kindred did not even engage in that sort of behavior. And apparently she was the one behind all the recent sightings of infernal magic in the area, having gotten ahead of herself and done some recon and the like, possibly giving away the fact that the guild had found out about their operations. Great, just great. And for some reason she was rather eager for us to leave the fact that she was here and had gotten ahead of ourselves out of the report, trying to strike some sort of deal with us in exchange for some information and "being on her good side". It was not something I was keen on taking her up on at all.
"Frankly, I am not inclined to take ou up on your offer. First, I cannot trust the analysis of someone who has too small of a brain capacity to remember which of us is the older sister, and I am not too inclined to take your information if the guild isn't. They usually have a fairly decent reason for that sort of thing," I said, giving the succubus a piercing glare. "Furthermore, you appearing out of nowhere and trying to give us information on this job if we leave you out of the reports seems too suspicious for my taste. And while it is true that I do frequently traffick with Daemons, that does not mean I like trafficking with pitiful wannabe devils who cannot hold a drink and can die from a broken heart. Unless you can give me a better reason than you already have given me, I see no reason why I shouldn't just pass this up and put all this in my report," I said, staring the succubus down. I would also make sure to include how I had my suspicions that she may have been involved. If they investigated and she was innocent, good for her. If not, then that was one less person experimenting with horrors around, and I wouldn't have to deal with her again.

"Simply animals, huh?" There must have been some miscommunication between them. House Godwyn would not travel to some backward country to chase simple animals. Amethyst would not have to carry a firearm capable of penetrating steel plates to take down a mere bear. To imply either statement was almost insulting, and while it would have been easy to lash out in the middle of this forsaken husk of a city, the younger Boivin merely responded to the man with a predatory grin. Her first words were a muttered aside, rather than a response. "Who said anything about animals?" She approved of his answer, and decided that the third wheel of the party was interesting enough; if albeit timid. Planting her rifle stock-first into the ground, she cheerfully continued her response - out loud, this time. "Then I may hold you to your word, sir Kursten, but for now, shall we hunt this con artist that has your guild and my dear sister worried. It is rude to make prey wait for the killing blow."
She then turned to Ruby with a playful expression, letting her elder sister know that she was focused - if only for the moment - at the mission. It was clear that the sisters did not share the same priorities, and unfortunately, Amy had found giving her sister a level of frustration was quite amusing. The girl had her fun, however, and was about to voice her own thoughts. After all, this was basically a hunt, and that was her territory. "I say, I'm quite surprised to hear both of you eager to charge in with all guns blazing, so to speak. I had thought that the guild would prefer to take things nice and slow - and boring. Don't get me wrong, of course, I think it's brilliant. Was almost about to say that it would have been foolish to think that we have not been noticed yet. So, cheers to that plan, sister. Though may I suggest t-"
However, it seems that fate had other plans, but at least no one could say that she did not try.
Before she could finish, a voice that was far too cheerful to be sultry cut through the silence around the gathered kindred. A glance towards her sister rubbing her temples confirmed her suspicious. "Miss V.V." Amethyst chirped mischievously, turning to face the newcomer with an exaggerated bow. "Good evening. To what do we owe the pleasure." She managed to say before Ruby gave into her temper and launched into an aggressive tirade. "Now, now, dear sister. I think it would be worth hearing what kind of information miss Vivian has to offer. I would certainly prefer to not walk into the den of a beast without some insight. Don't you, sir Kursten?" Admittedly, she didn't care about the information either, confident in the chances three vampires have when faced with a single mage. However, the succubus could fluster her elder sister like magic - metaphorically speaking, magic had a way of sparking her interest - and as bad as she felt, it was cute. "Come now, sister, do I have to be the diplomatic one in this situation?"

It seems I had misspoken...It was all but impossible to mistake the tone of condescension and disappointment that the younger Boivin had in her answer. It would have been difficult to mask my own dissatisfaction at the turn of events...but it seemed I would have a quite welcome distraction to take my mind off of it.= "Simply Animals!? This impudent child has not yet learned the fear the Wilds places in one of it's denizens, it seems. Boy! Use my power to it's fullest! I DEMAND you teach this child some respect!"I intended absolutely no disrespect towards the quite powerful nature spirit I had contracted with. Truly I didn't. But her venomous reaction to Amethyst's dismissal was so cutthroat that it cut around fearsome and back around to humorous. Chuckling slightly, I nod to Amethyst. "Perhaps. But you would do well not to underestimate the 'Simple Animals' of Eastern Europe. I wonder if it would be fun to go hunting for a baloth? Or perhaps a pack of Fenris? I might recommend against it, especially when you have our patron nature spirit out for your blood."
Seeing the conversation turn back to the mission at hand, I follow along with the newly efficient flow to the conversation eagerly. "It's best to let them get complacent. It makes it more likely to engender a clean kill. And delays are rather cruel. Our target is right in front of us. There's no reason to delay."
"Being around your own kind is good for you. I approve."
My internal and external conversations were distracted by the untimely appearance of a...rather totally strange individual. Her speech was all but incomprehensible...but there was this strangest draw that made him want to understand? He couldn't quite make heads or tails of it. "...Ruby, do you know this person?" I say, turning to the eldest vampire. Turning back to the succubus, I tilt my head. "Miss V.V. I appreciate your offer, as obviously self-serving as it is." I intended no insult by it...it was rather factual to point out. I look to the two other Vampires...Ruby was dead-set on absolutely refusing it, while Amethyst was willing to consider the information. While it was an amusing turn of events...both reactions seemed at odds with what I thought I had known about their personalities, I didn't think either extreme was appropriate at the moment. "Perhaps a compromise, Miss V.V.? We'll take your information on faith, and perhaps leave out that you approached us in this highly suspicious matter on our followup report. Then, if the information in your offering is of use, perhaps we will leave out your involvement in this entirely."I smile. It was true that it was a minor offering at best, though it would likely be very helpful in preventing her from being a true enemy of a guild if the fact there had been attempted bribery if the matter was truly serious. "I assure you, the information will get full consideration. I, and I'm sure the Boivin sisters as well, are people of their word." I turn to the two sisters once again. "Is such an arrangement appropriate? I hope I didn't assume any of your autonomy, as I intended no such thing. I'm more than willing to defer to your judgment if this is unacceptable. This is merely what I advise we do...though since Ruby is the eldest among us, I believe that her word should take preference."

”Ah, so rude of me. I apologise! Everyone deserves to know my name, it’s too lovely to forget! V.V. – the first V can be for anything you like; velvet, voluptuous, venomous, virulent, valuable, vigiliant… but! The second V is always for Valentine, sugar!” With a playful wink and a smile, V.V. seemed far too proud of her little introduction. Well, she had been working hard on it! ”Mm, but poor Ruby; I really was playing nice. But I guess I can’t trust the analysis of someone who has too small of a brain capacity to remember what a joke is, eh? And Amy really is acting the more mature one here, too… poor thing! Casual racism, too! I really ought to dump this offer with that sort of reception, but I can’t argue with such darlings as your compatriots. Besides, I wouldn’t want to saddle them with your leadership without a helping hand, ahahah! Or should I not like ‘trafficking with pitiful wannabe goths who can’t survive without others and can die from experiencing too much religion’?”Seeming satisfied with chewing out Ruby for her commentary, V.V. settled upon her preferred pair, as calm – and jovial – as ever. ”Now, for the ever-gorgeous and oh-so polite darling Amy, alongside her newfound and daring date! Self-serving, not quite, but that’s a matter you’ll just have to take my word on. I like your style, though; so I’ll help out. I could hardly turn down being propositioned by such a gentleman, after all~” cooed the succubus, clearly having a good time bantering about no matter the company; ”And so considerate to dear Amy and her poor sister! How dashing. I’d drop you my number with the rest of the info, but that’d be a bit to heavy-handed for a professional like me.””Now, for information… Hum, how about I start with what I saw during my work?” mused the lady, lounging against a wall with her arms behind her head; ”A number of a vampires… I think they’re in one of the cults – the little radical ones under the big families – but I’m not sure which so far. Not my specialty, but you folks might figure it out. Alchemical folks. Small arms on site, but nothing serious. Civilian grade, for sure. Magic capacities? Don’t know. Probably not if they’re investing too much in alchemy.”Tapping a finger to her chin, V.V. seemed awfully casual about the whole mess – for such a supposed slacker, she seemed to at least have a cool head about this business. Though then again, this really was still the small fry for the Guild’s enforcers. ”Alright, as a bonus, I’ll give you this tip – the back window on the… well, the left apartment from here – it should still be unlocked. Mind you, you might need wings if you wanna get up there quietly, but… well, it might help out. I’m afraid I didn’t exactly lay mines or anything for you, ahahah.””Mm, well, how’s that? Not bad for a freebie for now, huh? You can thank me next time, right? Ooh, or thank me now. I’ll take all your love whenever you want. Just say my name, and I’ll take anything you want, sugar~” crooned the succubus, giving a confident sway and another haughty smirk; ”The spy who can kill with just a touch… and her looks are even more deadly!”
”Don't pretend, I think you know; I'm damn precious! And, hell yeah, I'm the motherfuckin' princess! I can tell you like me too, And you know I'm right!”

This woman was a massive headache, besides the fact she was loud and obnoxious, she seemed like quite the airhead as well given her attempt at an insult back at me was as self derisive as it was supposed to be derisive at me. I simply sighed and decided to drop it, explaining this sort of thing to the person who said it was as useless as pointing out when a blonde tells a blonde joke, they are too stupid to get the fact they are included in their own joke. I simply, and deliberately, took a deep breath in and out, an act that served no real distinct purpose given I had no real need to breathe in the first place, but it did serve to calm me a bit as usual. I was old, but not old enough that an act like that would have no meaning whatsoever to my mind.
I simply just tuned out the succubus's drivel as I turned my attention to the matter at hand, looking at the building and making out what I could from the position I was in. There seemed to be four members moving around inside of our target, armed with what appeared to be small arms of some sort, pistols of an unknown make and caliber. Nothing too much to worry about given our vampiric physiology, but something to avoid getting hit in the head with for sure. Their outfits were very distinct from one another, they had no uniform. That meant they were not professionals in the slightest. Any professional outfit would be wearing at least the same outfit. I could not make out any body armor on them, which likely meant it was either under their clothing or non-existent, which meant it would likely be useless against what we had. This was good, hopefully we could take the target without any real damage to the scene or casualties. Information was paramount to make sure we could figure out exactly what they were doing.
However, as I was half paying attention it seemed that the succubus had moved on to something less drivelly so I returned my attention to what she was saying now that my analysis of the scene was over. It seemed that our opponents were not humans, but rather they were kindred. That would explain the lack of body armor, but them using firearms was a bit odd. Most of us had something more potent than a civilian grade firearm. So either they were really weak, or perhaps they were with Tepes, which would render them unable to use anything of any great power. It would also, however, make it significantly harder to take them alive safely. This would be an issue.
"Your information was at least slightly helpful, though a tad bit of reconnaissance would have done the same. I would not want to tarnish Kursten here's sense of honor, so I will refrain from including the fact you approached us suspiciously in my report, but I WILL be mentioning you were the one behind the infernal magic going on around here. If you registered properly with the guild and did all the requisite paperwork and the like, it shouldn't be too much of a problem that you have been using infernal magic, now would it? You might get a slap on the wrist for worryingg the populace with it and not informing them of your activities, but that is to be expected. Now quit that bloody singing before you alert them to our presence you over-sized walking marital aid" I said, giving the succubus a dirty stare for her singing, before returning my attention to the building to make sure we hadn't been seen.

Even madness has its methods.
Few understand this more than Amethyst, even if albeit subconsciously. The younger Boivin knew little of the politics of the other Houses - and cared she even less - but something about Kursten made her wonder if all Strigoi had little imaginary friends of their own. There was something about the silver-haired Slovakian that reminded the blonde of her elder sister and the demon that apparently lives insider her head. She did not quite care, rather focused on what may have been an effort to intimidate her. Baring her fangs in a wide smile, she purred. "My dear boy. No self-respecting hunter would embark on an expedition with no challenge. Much like romance, the thrill lies not in the kill, rather it is in the hunt itself. The only difference is that one does not share the latter." Tilting her head in amusement, she continued. "Unless, of course, that is how you get your thrills. Either way, one must learn when to wait, and when to deal a decisive blow. Therein lies the art."
"Speaking of art." With a grin, she turned back towards the apparent rivalry between the succubus and her sister. "It seems that Miss Valentine is quite talented at rousing my sister to anger." The statement was intended as an aside to the younger silver-haired kindred, but Amy made little effort to control the volumn of her voice. A small part of her had hoped that it would help Ruby calm down by means of pointing out the obvious. However, the rest was hoping to fan the fires even further. Truthfully, she would have liked Kursten to see Ruby at her finest, but the situation was far too amusing.
Still, the scion of House Sanguineus had begun to itch for a hunt, and Clan Godwyn did not hunt simple animals. Mages were not quite ideal prey, as magic was never seemed sporting, but their mark would have to do for now. "Very helpful information, Miss V.V." She exclaimed with an exaggerated bow, making a subtle show of condescension. "However, could you perhaps suggest a less boring route? If they have not yet reacted to our intrusion, perhaps the cultists are busy with other matters. If so, this is something we should certainly exploit. Besides, if they have firearms, it would be ideal to get in close as soon as possible." She may have been a tad biased as her blood had begun to rush for combat, but she wasn't being reckless. At least, no more than usual.

Amethyst's reaction to his information about the menagerie of what lurked in the Slavic forests amused him more than a little, though a substantial amount of that amusement came from Ravi's strange mixture of grudging respect yet outright venom at the dismissal. Rather than indulge himself in listening to her increasingly animalistic fury, he shrugs at the smaller vampire. "You seem quite accomplished. In any event, I'm glad to have met you. I'm sure if you apologize, then Ravijojla will appreciate your company as well...it's a shame you can't talk, otherwise I'd think you'd have much in common."
Unfortunately, he couldn't enjoy himself, he had a job to do. Unfortunately, the likely mentally disturbed V.V. took his tentative offer as something to dive head first into. He had wanted to leave discretion in the hands of Ruby...but there was no way around it. Well, he could always renege and inform the world about the crazy woman without a smirch on his honor...it wasn't a true offer, he had said explicitly it required further confirmation. However, Ruby seemed...if not content, then grudgingly accepting of following it. He was almost disappointed. This woman was, well, not trouble, but a headache for sure.
Suppressing an inward sigh, I nod to V.V. "I'll take the time to thank you now, then. I appreciate you telling us what we needed...though in the future, could you be slightly less...roundabout? I'm afraid we're not all blessed with boundless patience." That should be pointed enough for even a self-deluded succubus like what we were dealing with to understand that it was not only Ruby that could get tired with her antics, as well as saying there was a limit that, once crossed, one could not complain about being attacked. Or maybe it wouldn't. He didn't know, or quite honestly care that much. They learned what there was to know, and now it was time to move on.
Amethyst continued to request more information from V.V., and I couldn't fault her for her judgment. While I had a personal stake as an eldest sibling in my own right in the family squabble, I could tell it wasn't my place. So I merely waited, moving to try and get a view of where the succubus had suggested us go in. I could likely manipulate it with Ravijojla's magic, so it would be an easy entrance..."The one we know isn't ineffective. I should be able to get us in without costing us the element of surprise." I make this known to them, and then go back to waiting. He'd like to get it over with, but that didn't seem to be in the cards.

Ruby’s sulking earned a look of utmost amusement from V.V., clearly pleased with her work – she really didn’t need to even try in order to get this girl going. ”Mm hm, suit yourself, little girl. Be sure to give me a call if you need a ‘marital aid’ in a hurry; it looks like you’ll dearly need one. Assuming you’ve even hit puberty, anyway~” chimed the succubus; before turning her attention back to her favoured allies – ”A less boring route, though? I think spy work is the most thrilling stuff, but if you want to take the front door – then take the front door. Somehow I doubt locks are going to mean much to you guys in the first place. They’re between a few rooms anyway, so you can’t really take a loud approach without asking for trouble.””Mm, but no can do, handsome. If you don’t have patience, you’re in the wrong job. Besides, it’s no fun without a bit of thought, right? And I couldn’t exactly cough up in the info without at least trying to drag something out of you guys. You’d do the same yourself, I bet.” mused the violet-haired beauty, a troublesome smirk colouring her face alongside her final comment; seeming utterly confident in her judgement. ”Well, have a nice night, hm? I’ll play with you some other time, so be patient.”Giving a dismissive wave goodbye to the trio, V.V. gently took off into the air; her bat-like wings quietly bringing her up above and beyond the rooftops; vanishing as easily as she’d appeared. It seemed none of the supposed troublemakers by the motel had noticed the movement in the alleyway, and perhaps had loosened up a little now – one member was just leaning on the side of the motel’s second floor balcony, idly watching the horizon. Another one the ground was more on guard; albeit with his weapon still out of sight, assuming he had one in the first place. But on the other time, the fizz of magic was now lighting up the upper floor. A gentle yellow hue, alongside the occasional flicker of orange sparks… it seemed to be something ritualistic given the time it was taking and the previous scuffle in organising it; but now things had calmed down substantially. Though, there was no telling what the actual intent of the magecraft was from this distance… though if vampires were involved, it would surely have to be Strigoi work. Or, did they have hired help on hand…? Unfortunately for Kursten, it would appear that V.V.’s route was directly behind the building – without a lot of moving, he probably wasn’t going to be able to keep an eye on it. Given the streets around, it was troublesome to move in at all – cover wasn’t exactly plentiful amidst such gaps. But that being said, the souls on guard didn’t seem particular cautious…

And with the departure of that horrid succubus, my headache began to recede as well. Her very presence was an irritation. If it were not for the fact it would jeopardize my relationship wit the guild and the fact my sister seemed to have a fondness for the wretch, I would have stabbed her with my knife and left her in the back alley for the local urchins to have fun with. Not that it would be much of a punishment for one of her kind, she probably would enjoy being taken advantage of by a bunch of strange men, damned lust driven deviants. "Well then, now that that distraction is gone, we can start our operation in earnest. She will pay for the distraction after all, everything that just happened will make its way to the guild. I said I wouldn't say she approached us suspiciously, not that I wouldn't mention she approached us after all," I said, giving a bit of a vindictive grin as I thought about just how to word my report to get that damned succubus in as much trouble as possible for the headache she gave me. Whenever she was around she would be an utter nuisance and not much else.
I watched the building carefully for a bit, observing the people there and what was going on. It seemed everything had calmed down a bit there, and that was not a good sign. It meant things were about to begin. As expected, I could tell there was a glow coming from the second floor, and it was obviously a ritual of some kind given that it was taking so long to cast and prepare. We were either facing against another of my House or a mortal mage, neither were a prospect I wanted to face if necessary. It was a shame that one of our kind could possibly be lured into doing research like this. Either they were young and stupid or just careless enough to think that they wouldn't get caught or have it blow up in their face like Thule had it blow up in theirs. Enough was enough, now was not the time for chatting.
"We have to stop this, and likely fast so while that succubus's route might have worked if it weren't for her delay, it doesn't seem like it would be the wisest to let the ritual progress as far as it would in the time it would take to go through that route. In the end, I think a blitzkrieg is our best shot at interrupting it and taking them out. My dear sister, if you could take out the man on the second floor with your rather large gun, that would probably be ideal. Kursten, if you could use your magic to take out the man on the ground level, that also would likely be ideal. I'm not much help in combat, but I can at least do this to help make your job easier," I said, getting ready to cast some magic to enhance the young Strigoi.
"שטן של החוזה הראשון שלי, לשמוע את השיחה שלי ושחקנים בשבילי! כוחות שטניים, להחדיר חיים קדוש זה עם כוח ולהביא אותם לנצחון!" I chanted, the magic taking hold as I did so, enhancing Kursten's body to a degree to make his task easier.
"Sister, shoot the man at about the same time that Kursten engages the man on the ground level. That way it magnifies the shock factor," I said getting ready for combat, "As a final check before we start, does anyone have any other additions to the plan? If not, we should start immediately."

For all her impulsiveness, Amethyst was surprisingly stealthy when she wished - a skill that modern firearms had forced her to learn. However, she always preferred to take the direct route, for there was something about seeing the disbelief on the faces of her foes that brought a smile to her lips. That being said, the succubus had a point. "I have to admit, when you put it that way... going through the front door sounds boring in comparison." The blond vampire could only groan in disappointment. She had envisioned a heroic charge through a freshly demolished wall. Blood spraying against the walls. Cries of despair from her foes and manic laughter in the background. The works. However, what should have been dynamic entrance had been turned into a boring affair. With a sigh, she continued. "Is it not amazing how a few words can suck the fun out of an imminent assault?"
"Though I suppose spywork does not having to be boring." She mused, zoning out the conversation in favor of the company of her own thoughts once again. "James Bond is a spy, right? And as terrible as his taste in alcohol is, those films are bloody good fun. Maybe we can kill everyone after we get what your precious guild expects of you. It'll be great!" Unlike the others, who were familiar with unnatural creatures, Amethyst was only knowledgeable on how to dispatch such monstrosities. This paired the daydreams buzzing around her thoughts left the scion of Clan Godwyn blind to the rainbow of magic coming from the within. Had her sister not called for her, Amethyst would have happily droned on about nothing in particular. Talking about spies had led to a number of wild tangents. "Oh! Have I told you folks about this one fellow."
Old war stories would have to wait, however, as Ruby seemed eager to begin.
"H-Huh?" Preoccupied with digging through her memories, Amy had to pause to make sense of the plan her sister presented. The soldier in her veins made admirably quick work of the pieces that she had heard. It was simple enough: shoot the poor fellow on the second floor. Simple. At least in theory. Practically speaking, the task involved an anti-tank rifle and a target the size of an average man. Unbraced, no less. Fortunately, at this distance, it was not a particularly difficult shot. Even for one who was out of practice. Just point and shoot. "I see. Well, that sounds like a plan. Ruby."
Her blood, which had been cooled by her disappointment, begun to burn again. With an excited smile, Amethyst braced her rifle against a nearby wall and set her eyes through the scope. "Ready on your mark, Sir Kristin. Though I suggest giving your mark sooner rather than later. Seeing Madeline pointing at their general direction tends to make folks nervous." She laughed as she finished her statement, but the anticipation was clear in her voice.
As soon as the younger vampire gave the signal, she would fire at the poor sod - aiming for the torso. Even kindred would not walk away after a 13 millimeter round goes through their chest. That, and she was not too confident with her aim. Whether the bullet would hit its mark, however, the younger Boivin was eager to join the charge.
