Description: In the midst of current concerns about Horrors; minor radical parties have begun to flourish in the meantime – many of the more magically-inclined groups in particular have been trying to capitalise on the current chaos that the mere threat of the beasts involves. While there are certainly groups relying on the current fears to support and spread their cause, the Guild’s purview merely focusses on those using magical arts without accordance to the laws of magic instated and enforced by the Guild’s authority.
Based on civilian witness accounts and brief investigation, it would appear that a section of flats in Elkhorn is currently being used to experiment with magic linked to the Horror-realm. While currently not a threat to anyone, it is the Guild’s responsibility to handle these issues before they become a threat. Investigate the situation and handle it as the Guild would see fit – such blemishes on the magical community will not be tolerated.
Additional Notes: More recent witness reports from members of the IACSB working in the area have mentioned magical effects that are usually signatures of infernal magic; such as purple fire and unholy ashes. While this is not technically illegal by the Guild’s authority, a mix of infernal magic and interaction with the Horror realm would doubtlessly be an abominable combination.
