PERSONAL INFORMATION
Image:
Appearance: Tia stands at 5'5” and weighs 125 lbs. She's in great shape due to her exercise and years of training and studying martial arts, but is rather curvaceous as well. Her blonde hair is usually cut to neck or shoulder length, and though her eyes are typically hazel they glow red when her abilities are being used. Tia's often seen wearing a warm smile or an excited grin.
When it comes to outfits Tia prefers things that are easy to move in and comfortable. A recent favourite is a white turtleneck with a navy blue skirt, black tights, and brown boots. Of course she occasionally makes various superhero outfits in her spare time, but that's a hobby that is slowly dying and she very rarely wears them anymore.
Personality: Tia is a cheery, excitable girl that prefers to exude positivity as opposed to negativity. She embraces new sights, people, and concepts with open arms for the most part and is always eager to take part in new adventures. Conversely she can be rather lazy, and equally enjoys sitting at home reading graphic novels and watching cartoons and anime. Though not too openly, Tia is a very serious nerd and frequents numerous forums for her favourite fandoms.
Tia's social tendencies stem from a feeling of isolation and loneliness she harboured as a child. Though she was never truly bullied or singled out due to her abilities, her inability to tell others about them or really talk about them to anyone outside of her family left her feeling like so anyway. In order to block out or fill this loneliness she acts very friendly and sociable to others and often goes with the flow when it comes to the plans and whims of her friends.
There is a negative downside to Tia's willingness to simply play along, and that is a lack of initiation. Stemming from a fear of driving others away Tia prefers to adapt to the situation rather than take charge. Even in combat she rarely lands the first blow, and instead is reactive and waits for her opponent to make the first move. If she runs to the defense of another she's more likely to ask the opponent to stop what they are doing and put herself between them as opposed to simply attack them. Tia can make first moves and can take charge, particularly if a situation has turned violent or gotten out of hand, but she's more comfortable reacting.
Despite her laziness and overall nerdiness Tia has a love for martial arts training and exercise. She does her best to eat well though she “cheats” every so often, and cares to stay in shape so that she may make the most of her abilities. Though she overcomes her laziness to train and exercise she has yet to overcome her habit of sleeping in. Given the opportunity Tia can easily sleep into the early afternoon, and even then it'll take her a half hour to get out of bed on her own.
Tia loves meeting new people and values those she knows well. As such she finds it easy to care about others, even strangers that she has never met before. Tia has also been taught to believe in second chances and mercy. As such she's much more of a “defender” than an “attacker” in a sense. Tia's ultimate ambition is to become powerful and influential enough to protect the lives of all humans and mystic kind without having to kill those that threaten them. She believes it to be the best use of her powers.
History: Tia was born to Peggy and George O'Donnell. She was also born with telekinetic abilities. Even as a toddler her parents would enter her room and be shocked to see little toddler Tia levitating her toys and blocks for her own amusement. Because of this she never had some sort of day or incident where she “discovered” her powers. She's simply always had them. Her parents acknowledged it, told her about it, and continuously drilled into her head that she not tell a single soul about them.
The O’Donnells were a simple, average family among the community. Since her powers were rather easy to hide even at a young age there were no true problems in that regard. Tia's childhood was actually fairly normal, or standard, however you'd prefer to put it. She had friends, did well enough in school, and even avoided using her powers to her advantage as a child. Her parents had taught her that most kids didn't have any sort of gifts like that to help them do well in stuff like gym class, and that it wouldn't be fair if she used her gifts to show them up.
Of course there were times where she wanted to. When Tia saw bullies picking on kids, or if there was a particular sport she struggled with but could have performed better had she made use of her abilities. But she never did. Always kept them concealed away. Hidden.
Because of this Tia couldn't help but feel a pang of loneliness, especially as she approached the age of ten. It was difficult to not want to share with the closest friends her dearest secret. To vent some of this desire she'd taken up practising with her abilities in her room. Levitating objects and the like. But it could never quite fill the void. It was around that time that Tia started to get into some cartoons based off of superheroes, and from there she would get into comics and manga alike.
Tia truly delved into the stories she read. Her favourites were girls and women with powers and secret identities. She could honestly relate to them, at least a little, in that they had these marvellous powers and used them for good. Yet most of the time even those closest to them didn't know they had them. So they had to keep their identities secret, and go by code names or hero names instead. Tia yearned to be like that: free to use her gifts without drawing negative attention to herself or her family.
But she knew it could never happen. The closest she ever came to “fighting crime” was convincing her parents to let her undertake self-defence classes. Tia had trouble sticking with them at first, but eventually she came to love them. It was a skill she could develop outside of her powers, that she was free to use. So long as it was in self-defence or at her classes. Beyond that all she could do was use her powers in secret and read her comics.
Or so she thought.
As Tia entered she opened up even more in an attempt to fill her loneliness with friends. This desire had her make friends with plenty of kids from all kinds of different cliques and groups. She never really judged what someone was into, and instead took an interest in it. The “goths”, the “jocks”, the “alpha bitches” and of course the “nerds”. She had at least one friend in every group, and managed to fit in well enough. She was a little too chipper for the goths, but they tolerated her all the same. It was also to be noted that the person she considered her best friend was a fellow member of the comic book club named Alex.
One time she and Alex were planning to hang out at her house to have a discussion about a certain comic book volume when Tia saw police cars outside of her home. Worried, she ran home and found her mother speaking to a pair of officers with tears in her eyes. Tia asked what happened, and discovered that her father had been mugged outside of a convenience store. He was alive, but he had been stabbed in the stomach and needed to stay at the hospital for an undetermined length of time.
Stabbed, in broad daylight.
Tia had never truly taken note of the crime situation in her city. It hadn't been so bad when she was younger, but as job opportunities slowly shrank people had become more desperate and willing to commit crimes. Tia spent numerous times at her father's side, and before she could say anything he would weakly plead for her to “let it be”.
Tia couldn't do that.
One weekend Tia spent hours adjusting some of her outfits. Sewing classes from school and lessons from her mother gave her enough experience to edit some black tights, a black dress, and several other clothing items to form an all-black outfit that was easy to move around in. Activating her T.T field, she snuck out her window one night and went on the prowl. Her heart was pounding with fear and excitement alike, but she kept focused. She had no idea who had stabbed her father but her mission wasn't revenge.
She just wanted to strike back. To show the people in her city that crime wasn't to be tolerated.
...And she found nothing. No crimes, no shady or suspicious characters. Though she was disappointed, she supposed it wasn't going to be like the comics. Despite this Tia didn't give up, and instead continued going on careful hunts throughout the city to find some sort of sign of a crime.
About a week later, when she was close to giving up, she got lucky. It was a standard first scenario for a superhero. A man appearing from the darkness of an alleyway to pull an unsuspecting businessman into the alley with him. Tia nearly froze, but shook herself and ran to the alleyway. She heard a struggle as she approached. A man, likely the criminal, was demanding that the other man hand over his wallet.
Tia used her T.T field to accelerate her body and rounded the corner into the alleyway. Moving faster than a girl her age ought to be she tackled the aggressor to the ground. He was stunned and shocked by the blow, so Tia manipulated her field to keep him pinned to the ground and told the other man to call 9-11. A black ski mask covered her face, but the use of her abilities had her eyes glowing red, which likely frightened both men.
However the businessman didn't hesitate to run while dialing up the police on his phone.
Once the sound of sirens approached Tia used telekinesis to roll the man out of the alleyway and disappear into it. She fled home safely, climbed up a tree just outside of her room, and from there crept through her window and into her room.
She felt exhilarated. Accomplished. She used her powers for good! A criminal was being put to justice thanks to her! It felt like she had done a favour for her father.
The next day was a typical school day, and aside from being more tired than usual Tia was extremely chipper that day. Her good friend Alex took note of it and, feeling so happy, she invited him over to her house that day with the intention of telling Alex her secret.
However, as they entered her home, the news could be heard from the living room. The anchorwoman specifically said that an attempted mugging had been stopped by a young woman dressed in all black wearing a ski mask. She then went on to say that if anyone were to see such a woman that they were to immediately call the authorities.
Tia was admittedly disappointed. She had a feeling the cops wouldn't be happy with what she had done, explained why they almost always hated superheroes in the comics and movies, but that wasn't what made her blood run cold. Tia gave her mother a “hello” as she made her way past the living room to the stairs, but when she glanced into the living room she saw her mother just...staring at her. It wasn't an angry stare, or a fearful one, or a disappointed one.
Simply a knowing stare.
Tia knew she'd be hearing a lecture later. Still! She had to tell Alex at least, if no one else. So she did. Once they were in her room she pulled out her outfit and said that she was the girl the cops were looking for. Obviously, of course, Alex was sceptical. However when Tia lifted one object after another with her telekinesis, he was successfully convinced. And astonished. And amazed.
Tia explained that she wanted to keep doing what she was doing, but she needed to work on a proper outfit. One that didn't look like she, herself, was a criminal. However she had to convincingly hide her face, otherwise she'd just be tracked down and arrested in her civilian identity.
At first Alex was insanely against the idea. He even threatened to tell Tia's parents. But after a hushed argument he grudgingly agreed to help come up with costume ideas and a name for herself. He continued to try and say that this sort of thing just didn't work out in the real world, whereas Tia countered with: “Oh yeah? Well until an hour ago, your 'real world' didn't have psychics.”
It was a bit difficult to argue with that.
Sure enough, when Alex left, Tia's mother sat her down to have a talk. She asked Tia if she tried to do it for revenge, which Tia replied that she didn't. Tia tried to explain to her mother that she was just tired of not using her abilities to help when she definitely could be using them to do something. Anything.
Peggy told Tia her father would never approve, and she was right. When George was released from the hospital and was told by Peggy what Tia had done he firmly scolded her. Tia pleaded for her parents to let her just give the whole thing a chance. Very, VERY reluctantly they agreed, knowing how long their daughter had avoided using her abilities or even talking about them. The condition was that the moment something went wrong, in any way, shape, or form, she was to give it up forever. It was also agreed upon that should her grades drop at all then she was to give it up.
So Tia continued to sneak out at night and patrol the streets. She had to grow increasingly cautious, as she was a minor target of the police, but she had taken a week off since her first venture and so the cops weren't as alert. Just like before she found nothing on her first night but that didn't deter her in the least.
She and Alex would continue to meet up outside of school and discuss strategies, safe routes through the city, costume ideas, and names. For a while they enjoyed the name Sykick, until Tia decided it sounded too much like “Sidekick”. The next one to stick was Psionic, but it felt as though it was missing something and Psionic Girl just felt too obvious. After a few attempts at brainstorming Alex though the name “Metagirl” out there...and Tia loved it. At least more than their other name ideas.
Alex also went through several costume ideas. To avoid leaving a trail Tia had to make do with what fabrics and clothing she had at home. Eventually she modified a dark affair that looked less shady. While Tia would have loved to wear something more colourful, she could only operate at night and as such stuck to blacks and purples. A dark purple mask was constructed to cover the area around her eyes, and a sort of “ninja” mask was made to cover her nose and lower. It was a bit...odd looking, but it would have to do.
Metagirl made several busts over the next two years and surprisingly never got caught or harmed. Most criminals didn't see her coming, and when they did they were shocked to find any forms of retaliation rather ineffective. More often than not she would simply rush in behind them, lift them up, and hurl them into the ground. She also took to restraining them, tying signs that read “Caught by Metagirl!” on them, and tossing them near police stations.
Metagirl made exactly twelve successful busts. It wasn't like her city was RIDDLED with crime. She also found that her ever-growing fame, or infamy, was actually deterring criminals. Though Tia wished she could have gone after the better organized crime that tended to run through any city, she never found a lead to hunt them or catch them in the act. So just about every one of her bust was a mugger or petty thief.
In the summer before her first year of college, however, Metagirl met her match. She had been planning on giving up the mantle to focus on college, but she decided to make one last round of the city before doing so. That was when she heard a muffled scream from an alleyway nearby. Just like her first bust.
Metagirl rushed around the corner and saw...something unlike anything she had witnessed before.
It was a human female, or at least it looked like one, and she was holding another woman to the ground. However the attacker had rather large fangs, and didn't hesitate to plunge them into the neck of the downed woman. The downed woman seemed to be put under a spell by this, and Metagirl came to an uneasy realization.
This was a vampire.
How did she judge a vampire? It was just feeding, right? But...that still couldn't be good. But everything needed to eat, right?
Metagirl approached the vampire very cautiously, more fearful than ever before, and the vampire made eye contact with her as she continued to feed. Metagirl told the vampire that she would allow this feeding to occur so long as she did not harm or kill the woman.
The vampire, with bloodstained lips, gave Metagirl a sweet smile.
“You are stupid, aren't you mortal? The day I allow a human to order me is the day I throw myself into the sunlight”
With that the vampire lunged at Metagirl, faster than anything she had ever seen. The shock was too much for the wannabe superhero, and as such her field did not activate in time. A bloody appendage, similar to a blade, burst forth from the vampire's forearm and she slashed at Metagirl with it.
For the first time Tia felt pain, real pain. The blade-like appendage sliced her arm and caused Tia to stagger back. Her field activated in time for the second strike, but even focused for defense it felt as though a couple more attacks would break the field. What did she do? She never had a real fight with a human criminal before, let alone a vampire.
But she did have training in self-defence. She did have her powers. She wasn't just Tia, she was freaking Metagirl!
Tia caught the vampire's arm during one of her slash attempts and hurled the vampire into a wall. This seemed to shock the creature more than actually harm it, unfortunately, and she got right back to her feet and went in for more. Tia concentrated and kicked the vampire in the head, her telekinetic field amplifying the kick intensely. Once again, the vampire got up for more.
Desperate now, Tia focused her telekinetic field and forcefully expanded it, knocking vampire back but also out of her range. Before the mystic kind could get up Tia gripped a nearby dumpster and shoved it at her. Vampires were supposed to be nearly indestructible, right? Could only be killed by stakes and the sun and stuff. So Tia prayed, dearly prayed, that the dumpster wouldn't kill the vampire.
She didn't have to worry: the vampire dodged the dumpster anyway. She still wouldn't stay down.
“Not just some mortal, eh?” The vampire cackled. A second blade burst out from it's forearm as it rushed Tia down once again.
Tia shifted her field to shove herself out of the vampire's way, but the creature did not relent. She turned on her heel and slashed at Tia once again. Out of desperation Tia used her field to force herself up above the vampire and into the air...and was shocked when she stayed there.
She could fly. SHE COULD FREAKING FLY!
Unfortunately Tia did not have the time to revel in this ability, and was instead shocked when the agile vampire leapt up to grab her by the leg and slam her down onto the ground. Tia couldn't adjust her field in time and felt the full impact of hitting the ground. Stars filled her eyes and her field shut down completely as she was dazed and in pain.
When her eyes adjusted she saw the vampire, standing above her. It was only a second, but it was the longest second of Tia's life. Her eyes staring into the blood red eyes of that vampire. Tia felt fear, real fear, and for the first time since donning the mantle of Metagirl she felt genuinely powerless.
How fortunate she was that it was not just her that decided to go prowling that night.
A man and woman, dressed in grey trench-coats, approached the vampire from behind with remarkable swiftness. One carried a large battleaxe, and the other a giant halberd. With just one slash from each the vampire, too distracted by her apparent victory, was beheaded and bisected by the two.
The gore shocked Tia into utter silence as the two uniformed adults looked down at her. They told the girl that they were with the IACSB, and that the vampire they had just killed was a rogue. One who had gone mad with power and bloodlust, who turned on her own kindred and fled. They also told Tia that they saw what she had done, and how she had held her own against the creature.
“Instead of dressing up like some child, how about you put those powers to real use.” The man, Lorenzo Speziali, told Tia as he knelt down. “How about you join the IACSB.”
Forget college...hell forget Metagirl. Tia had trouble saying no, especially when she was told that there were others similar to her. Mages, psychics, hybrids, and even full on mystic kind were among the ranks of the IACSB. There were even other psychics!
Tia had found her calling. Her purpose. The next step to becoming the woman she wanted to be.

CAPABILITIES
Skills:
Name: Martial Arts (Unarmed Melee Combat/Striking)
Description: A fervent student of standard martial arts. She has studied boxing, jiu jitsu, and taekwondo for five years. While not a devoted enough student to stick thoroughly to one style, she knows enough to blend the three into a unique style that suits her just fine. As she continues to use it she, as a combatant, continues to improve. Her focus tends to be almost more of a trained brawler. She uses power strikes for obvious areas, like the head or spleen, in an attempt to stun or disable an enemy before grappling them down.
Rank: E
Name: Computer Savvy
Description: Being a bit of a nerd and hobbyist, she is actually quite adept at the ins and outs of computer coding and management. Can hack into low security websites and the like along with fix basic errors with a computer, be they external or internal.
Rank: E
Name: Mental Resistance
Description: Through mental training has learned to block out attacks on her psyche. This does not mean she is immune to things such as fear, but it protects her from telepathic invasions or illusions.
Rank: E
Name: Stealth
Description: Having had to evade police and catch criminals unawares, Tia learned how to stay silent an unseen for the most part. She can sneak up on regular humans fairly well, but many mystic kind, hybrids, or well trained humans would likely be able to sense her approach one way or another if she got too close.
Rank: E
Abilities:
Name: Tactile Telekinesis
Description: The ability to manifest and manipulate a telekinetic field around, along, and throughout the body. Enhances physical abilities and can extend to applying telekinetic force to objects outside of the body's range, but this range is limited and it's power weakens the closer to the max range an object or being is. The field itself, when not in active use, is impossible to see. Upon being used, however, it takes the form of a faint red glow that expands from the user's body based on how it is being utilized at the time. The user's eyes glow red when it is used as well.
The field has a total blind spot at the back of the neck, and will be shut down completely for one post if the user is struck there. All associated abilities and techniques will be unusable for that turn. Intense mental and emotional stress can make the field difficult to control, though the field will not lash out in response, and mental shock or interference from other psychic or mental abilities can temporarily suppress the telekinetic field if they are above the ability's current rank.
Rank: E
Name: Force Within
Description: By manipulating her telekinetic field, she can add a "++" modifier to any one of her stats. At her current rank it is only two “+”s and can only be applied to one stat at a time. For example, if she were to use her telekinetic field to enhance her physical strength, she could not harden it to increase the toughness of her body at the same time. As such only her Strength would get a +, and her Endurance cannot until she actively focuses the field to shift accordingly. Likewise for Agility into Strength. Heightening her agility increases her reaction time and allows her to move or glide faster than normal, but it does not make a blow from her kick any stronger than normal.
When used to give Endurance a “++”, repeated blows of E rank or higher can briefly break the telekinetic field, leaving it completely unusable for one post.
Cannot be used in conjunction with Force Throughout.
Rank: E
Name: Force Throughout
Description: An object or person within a 5 meter range of her body can have telekinetic force applied to them by her. The same goes for an object or projectile that enters her field if it was not already within it. She can lift and throw objects within this range above ground level if they are 200 lbs or less, but she can simply push or pull objects at ground level of up to 400 lbs at her current ability. Also, at her current rank, she can only target one person or object at a time, though the time between switching targets is very low.
Cannot be used in conjunction with Force Within.
Rank: E
Name: Flight
Description: By applying telekinesis on herself she is able to levitate and glide through the air. She cannot truly fly yet, however, and her techniques and abilities are more taxing than normal when she is mid-flight. At higher ranks she may be able to grant this ability to anyone within her field so long as they remain in her field, and it may not cause her other abilities to be any harder to use than normal.
Her current maximum altitude is 50 feet into the air and she can travel a distance of 20 kilometers without landing.
Does not fall under either Force Throughout nor Force Within.
Rank: E
Techniques/Spells:
Name: T.T Pulse
Description: By focusing and strengthening her telekinetic field, she can forcefully expand the field to it's max range and an extra 5 metres beyond it in one strong pulse, capping this ability's range at 10 meters in a 360 degree angle. This pulse can only be used once per post, with a max of three posts in a row before requiring a three post cooldown, and hits for E++ damage
Rank: E
Type: Offensive
Name: T.T Barrier
Description: Can project her telekinetic field and harden it to form a shield that can cover 300 degrees at max width and height of 5 meters. The 60 degrees at the back is not defended. Though it can block any type of attack, at it's current rank it can only be used to block attacks one-by-one at the same rank. If two attacks at E rank hit it at the same time the barrier will break.
Rank: E
Type: Defensive
Name: T.T Blink
Description: Using her telekinesis to carefully launch/propel herself in a given direction, this skill is Tia's best bet for getting somewhere in a short period of time. By utilizing this skill Tia is allowed a movement in a single direction at E++ speed without dedicating Force Within to her agility stat. It has a maximum distance of 15 meters at this rank. Often used to re-position herself closer to an enemy so that they are within her T.T field, or to move in front of an ally to block an attack with T.T Barrier. Can only be used once per post.
Rank: E
Type: Movement
(Side note: She doesn't qualify for a spiritual armament, does she?)
