OGRE INTRODUCTION
A race that is always followed by a notoriety for brutality and laziness even among supernatural circles; the truth to ogres is in fact just as complicated as any other Mystic Kind – they are all individuals with their own attitudes and traits; just as varied as any other race. Known for their intimidating sizes generally standing from 6’ to 9’ in height and typically with bulky frames in both genders; be it from muscle or fat; ogres are quite curious among Mystic Kind for being some of the most wide spread yet varied – many societies have their own stories of dealing with the near-giants, but all with their own spins on the species and their traits; such as ogres with multiple heads, the colourful oni, or the fairy tale-esque green-skinned ogre. However, this variety stems from a simple trait that seems to be amongst all examples of ogres; a preference for seclusion and privacy.
While they all do have this sense of seclusion and loneliness, this trait still does tend to vary among the individual kinds and of course individual members – the Japanese oni tend to be comfortable in small groups or pairs, while European ogres often prefer to live on their own for almost their whole lives and be left to their own devices. Matching this attitude, ogres tend to have very limited ambitions; preferring having comfortable lives to taking on grandiose quests or movements; although they can often be spurred into action if their lifestyle is threatened. Though known for their brutality and violent natures, this sort of response is generally only caused in defence of their own lives – although they have a habit of overreacting. Similar to werewolves, they believe a lot in respect of others and their territories… however, ogres unfortunately are not always so clear about their boundaries and tend to get very grumpy when they’re infringed upon, even by accident. Perhaps even especially by accident.
Angering an ogre in this manner, regardless of its locale or kind; typically proves their infamy true – they are naturally intimidating and powerful creatures, typically forgoing tools and armour beyond improvised clubs and makeshift clothing as they have little use for such things with their natural strength. Even to the modern human a grown ogre can be a terrifying foe, as most firearms aren’t likely to do a thing against such a rampaging beast. While they lack the sort of regeneration of vampires and werewolves; they instead have unbelievable vitality – they will surely take wounds, but they simply will not fall to them unless their vitals are seriously damaged.
All this about their dangerous and destructive natures aside, ogres are generally a peaceful race – albeit one that often respects hard-won fights and accomplished warriors due to their recognition of strength and endurance. Fights between ogres are often just a friendly practice rather than an attempt to kill or the like, and woe betide the unlucky humans who end up in an oni party only to end up on the wrong side of an ogre keen on a scuffle. That said, they are just as passionate about their comforts as they are about their fighting or their territory; with oni in particular known for their grandiose parties and drinking habits almost as much as their often violent natures.
While it’s hard to drag an ogre out of their home if they can avoid it, there are ogres and particularly oni whom have joined supernatural society and even some among humans; but they are truly rare. They are usually young ogres stuck without a home or in search of a good fight, although older ogres tend to look down on their kin whom get involved in ‘all that complicated business with the short folks’. Among others, ogres stick out like a sore thumb and tend to get looked down on and mocked a lot by other races for their infamy; which only encourages their violent natures. In turn, ogres do not tend to get close to other races; preferring to hold their allies at arms’ length almost as much as their enemies – they are a naturally reclusive culture after all.
But, should an ogre make a true friend, they are a friend for life. A typical tale in particular is an ogre finding a soft spot for a soul who tries to help them out beyond the scope of fighting, where ogres often struggle – that pinch of consideration can often go a long way, even if ogres do not often show such sentimental thoughts at first. A common joke among supernatural circles are stories of the unlucky sweethearts who catch the fancy of ogres or oni despite having a meek demeanour – however, these stories in reality are rarely so bitter… after all, having a wife who can throw anyone who dares give you trouble across the continent is far from a curse.

GENERAL OGRE SKILLS/ABILITIES LIST
Please do note you can make your own Skills and Abilities. These are just suggestions.
Skills: You may take up Skills from the Human list from here.
Abilities:
Name: Unyielding
Description: An ogre’s endurance is infamous; going far beyond the regeneration or raw toughness of other races – instead, they are simply unstoppable until they finally fall down dead. Regardless of damage taken, an ogre is able to keep acting as if at full strength and vitality unless suffering from poisons, magical curses or crippling injuries. They are also able to endure these effects if they are of lower rank than this ability (well, apart from crippling injuries for obvious reasons).
Rank: S~D
Name: Ogrewhelming Force
Description: Known for their brute strength, ogres are often more capable than trained fighters simply due to their outright strength – technique is often said to be a substitute for strength, after all. When using simple weapons they have no training in (improvised clubs, large swords, spears), ogres gain a plus modifier to their strength. It’s way easier to just hit someone with something rather than try and use it properly, after all.
Rank: E
