Chaos. It was what would describe the battlefield below the tram that the Secure team rode in. Numerous faction members from Lakecrest fought against the waves of Horrors that kept coming and coming. From below, they could see many dying. It was an undulant orgy of violence. Lead and quicksilver continued to whistle through the caverns below. Razor-sharp steel tore into flesh and greedily sunk into a single inch further. Colorful bursts of mana incinerated bodies. It was chaos and the team would be glad that they would not have to join the bulk of the combat. The screams can still be heard through the tram walls and it would continue to ring as echoes even as they entered through another set of tunnels. The train finally stopped to a halt in a dark clearing with its doors sliding open. The stale and musty air of the mines would fill their nostrils. The team could still hear the lull of combat earlier through the walls. But they were still separate from that environment, at least for now. They had a job to do. Ahead of them was a dim brightness which could mean their doom and their objective. Pipes and stalactites lined the ceiling of the tunnel, always threatening to fall with their dangerously sharp points ready to bore through their skulls. With all the commotion and shaking from the battlefield before them, it wouldn't be too surprising if a couple fell down by now. But once they focused their sights on the brightness ahead, the pipes would obviously not follow them if they continued to move forward as the path of these metallic lengths curled back towards the direction of the tram. Ahead was the noise of something... gnawing and swallowing. The light flickered off and on, as if beckoning the team to come closer.

Silence... that's what the first thing which the ex-Agent noticed. Aside from the low rumblings of something ahead, everything was... quiet. One would think there would be more people here... but perhaps not, considering the situation at hand. "Be ready... Somethings waiting for us..." She whispered to the others... Was it really wise of her to take the lead...? Perhaps not, but... if she didn't, who else would? At least Nicole had some experience on the matter. She strapped on Darius on her hands as they slowly proceeded forward. Not far enough for whatever was waiting for them to notice, but far enough to at least get some distance between them and the way they came. "Are you all ready? Just tell me if anyone gets hurt. I'll provide. Stay close, and tight. We don't want anyone rushing ahead without thinking." Nicole said to the rest of the group, waiting for them to get ready. Once they all were, they would move out, and deal with whatever horrors awaited them in there...

The path through the tunnels would have certainly been a harrowing one for most, but I've seen too much, been too much, to let it affect me all too bad. The sounds of people dying, the flashes of light and few glimpses of the horrors couldn't unnerve me...it's just another day sleeping in a sewer, another time crawling through the alleyways to find another source of blood. "I agree. I've seen them skulking around. They'll probably attack if they see a weakness...or if they get hungry." He looks back at the other people in their group...and like it or not, the person ahead of him seems by far the most competent. If I looked at this reasonably...I probably should stay in the back to shore up the rearguard...
But I didn't feel like doing that.
"Don't worry, miss." I say, with as confident a smile as I can muster. "I won't let anyone be hurt today." A promise that would be unlikely for me to keep, to be sure. He knew what they were there to do, they were there to fight and kill monsters that were causing trouble for people with far greater experience than he did. But...if he could prevent people from getting hurt...that'd be impressive, wouldn't it? I turn back to everyone. "Just...don't make risky decisions...if I fail to do what I said I would, I'd rather it be on my own shoulders."
I had everything I needed. I was fully blooded...as strong as I was ever going to be. I wasn't the same hungry wretch that had crawled in to the Mage's Guild office begging for room and board. I could keep everyone here safe! "Miss, if you wish to lead, I'll watch your back. Or you can let me take the vanguard position. Either way is fine with me..."

This entire area certainly gave off a rather grim vibe. No wonder there was a need for a group to take whatever was ahead on. They were obviously not heading towards a vacation spot. Anyone with some common sense would be able to assume this place was dangerous to take a stroll in without being careful. Tykki walked alongside the rest of his current teammates until they came to a temporary stop, listening to the small conversation that started as he looked around carefully. ''I think it's likely that they will attack simply because we are about to invade their territory. We'll have to try and keep on the watch out as much as we can.'' Something was ahead indeed, but based on the nature of the noises and how this place looked in general, there wasn't much chance they would be left untouched regardless of how they moved about. A group of six people couldn't easily walk around unnoticed.
He would look towards the rest of them. ''We're a team for now. Let's just work together. No one needs to be more responsible than the rest, as long as we do our best to accomplish what we're here for, right?'' They were all in the same position as it was now. If everyone did what they were good at, then it should work out in the end. Most likely, they would all need to watch out for each other, rather than assigning exact roles just yet. They did not know what kind of enemies were they about to walk into. Though, he would wait and see what the last two members had to say on this.

Concentrate. Let the world around you fall away, and prepare your mind. I meditated, letting the outside world of the train I was riding on fall away from me, and I began to prepare myself for the combat that was likely lying ahead for me. None of the people around me on the way there, nor the screams of the people below reached me. I was serene, I was in my own space. Now that I was here, I began my mental preparations for the hunt, the tool my mother taught me to overcome my pacifistic instincts, my hesitations, my doubts about finishing the enemy.
It was cruel to hesitate when the enemy was wounded, it was mercy to finish them off as quickly and lethally as possible. It was cruel to let an enemy go free and harm other innocents. It was merciful to end one life to save many. It was merciful to use overwhelming force to put them down as quickly as possible, as it was cruel to torture even my enemies. Harness the flames within me, so that I can let them burn away the enemies threatening the people I was sworn to protect, the innocent people of the world who could not fight for themselves. After all, not everyone was gifted with the power of magic.
The process was going well, more so than usual. I felt stable, firm in my own thoughts and beliefs. Unmoving like the earth around me. Perhaps this was because of the mana in the air being colored by the realm, but in the end it didn't matter. Now was not the time, now was the time to hunt my foe and protect the weak. I was now an elven huntress, charged with not protecting my tribe, but charged in aiding the protection of the world and its inhabitants at large.
As I took a deep breath out and let myself come out of my trance, I felt the train come to a halt, and I followed the others out of the train, Lili following behind me as I left. I readied my bow and nocked an arrow equipped with one of the fire talismans that I was given. They began to talk one another about the positions that they should take, and the fact that danger was coming, so I began to speak, giving my two cents on the matter as well. "I can also heal people if the need arises, and I will provide longer range support from the back, though if I recommend you move, you should probably move, especially if you have a particular aversion to fire, given my kind of magic," I said, putting forth what I could do in a rather straightforward fashion.
I wanted to talk to them more, but that would not be very helpful in this situation. Instead, I kept my eyes open and my ears at the ready, trying to make sure that I could hit the first enemy before it hit us. After all, a bow was not useful at range.

The scene below; the battlefield – was something very alien to Lili. Slumped on the floor unlike the seated occupants, the hybrid was transfixed by the sight. Bullet, guns! Exciting! Magic too, Arwen would be impressed! But yet, she felt bad. She felt very bad. It wasn’t the screams, or the noise; that much was somewhat familiar. The stench, nor the sights – no, they did not bother her either. But, something about the sight told her that things were awful. That she should be feeling awful. No matter what she considered, though; Lili could not put a word to the thought… it was frustrating. She really wanted to get angry. Yet, all she felt was grief. Even as the tram halted, the hybrid was unsettled. Her ears and tail were on display already, unsurprisingly – ready for a fight. But those ears were pinned back at the moment, tail drooping with dissatisfaction… with nervous repetition, the girl would glance quickly to her Elven compatriot for some sort of solace; only to glance away again in shame. She felt very alone right now, and she did not know why. This feeling of anxiety, ever-heightening as the sounds beyond the cavern continued to echo to the group… Lili did not consider herself a very weak-willed person, but right now she felt like her heart was bleeding out. The conversation surrounding her was at least a little comforting – that girl again, the odd-smelling one; she seemed so steadfast compared to Lili. The boy with the cloak – confident as well, even eager. Jealously peaked in her heart, but only for a moment. And that soul with the horns…just another person. She was finding it hard to concentrate on the group as it was… ah, she could feel it; the familiar hunger… she was starving… Despite the situation, Lili wore her usual IACSB coat-and-suit uniform; baseball hanging loosely by her side… a bizarre sight for the others; perhaps even unsettling given her current mood. It was probably for the best they couldn’t see her revolver right now, really. Arwen’s words seemed to snap her back to reality, though; recognising the movement of the conversation. ”I want to be up close. I want to be, angry. I’m hungry, so I want to get angry…” mumbled the hybrid, seeming irritated by her own words; ears twitching slightly as the friction between her humanity and lupine heritage grew; ”Don’t hit me… don’t hit Arwen! I’ll be furious. I might turn around, so… don’t hit Arwen!”

As soon as they continued to advance forward, the noise of chewing and slurping continued to be heard. It was clearly unreserved and ravenous in nature. Bones could be heard snapping and a greedy slurp soon after. Something was there, that was for sure. But, it seemed to not notice them. As soon as they were getting even closer, whatever was making the noise wasn't alone. There were others partaking in this noise-making. And yet they continued to not hear them. Perhaps it was just that hungry. Upon getting close enough, there were macabre shadows of something... inhuman. Nothing that looked a person at all. It was hunched over and the movements it made had no reserve as it consumed. If they slowly peeked towards the scene and continued to sneak about, a gruesome scene greeted their eyes. Corpses of two were laying strewn about on the ground. But they weren't intact as both showed evident signs of having their limbs severed and what was left of them being fought over in a tug-of-war between beasts. With enough strength, sinew and nerve were torn off with a rough rip, causing both beasts to topple back respectively before continuing their feast. Spiny and sharp, was likely the first impression many of the team members might have upon seeing its needle-like back which probably served as protection. A monstrosity of all four limbs in the manner of a bestial animal with an eager long tongue that slithered through their victim's bone marrow to happily suck it dry. One corpse that they feasted on was barely recognizable with all the gore as evidence of their ravenous nature and their choice on which to eat first. The other was a woman with tear-stained frozen eyes that continued to stare at the ceiling as the Horrors satisfied themselves. The Horrors numbered in three. And three was the crowd as they made good work mutilating the corpses with their hunger. One continued to feast on the more mutilated corpse while two others evidently found better portions to be had with the woman.

"Well... Let's do this. I'm going in. Cover me, would you? I'm taking down the one with the bone. Feel free to join me." She whispered to the others, before dashing quickly towards the Beast that was gleefully occupied with the bone. If it didn't notice her straight away, it would know her presence shortly, for the woman's foot would smack it underneath it's jaw with enough force behind it to at least stun it momentarily, if nothing else. She of course kept the other two beasts in mind, raising both her hands, ready to ward off any of them. The Singing Strike, if it landed, would hinder the beast somewhat in terms of mobility while boosting her own strength somewhat.Skills: Name: Unarmed Melee
Description: The capability to use his/her own body as a weapon. To attack using fists, feet, and other parts of the body in combat. Striking, grappling, and throwing are some of the three types of attacks the body is capable of using against others depending on what style that is being used. Rank E would be basic training, while rank D would be an expert – ranks above these are more akin to Hollywood martial arts heroes.
Rank: E
Name: Martial Arts Literacy
Description: The understanding of martial techniques and tactics from drawing upon prior experience in combat and training that has been ingrained in the body. It allows a martial artist to analyze and comprehend the mechanics of other martial arts. This does not mean they can effectively counter the technique/tactic right away. At most it should be seen as a means to better deal against them. Ki Artists would be able to understand how Ki techniques work.
Rank: E
Name: Free-running
Description: The discipline of getting from Point A to B efficiently. It is a skill that allows one to climb up structures/obstructions or jump/run across them with little to no injury. Parkour requires a regimen like those of gymnastics and the willingness to make risks to get to the desired destination.
Rank: E
Abilities:
Name: Druidism
Description: The form of magecraft intrinsic to all Children of the Forest. Magic dealing with life, both plant and animal, heavily steeped in rituals and incantations. Has very little in the way of instant magecraft, but depending on the type of methodology can be used for anything from enchantments to curses and etc. Usually requires ample amount of preparation and rituals for each spell, so it is ill suited to combat.
Rank: D
Name: Shapeshifting
Description: Unlike their ability to shapeshift into their wolf forms, Children of the Forest may also temporarily transform themselves into other animals using their magical abilities. Unlike their Hunting Form, Killing Form, and Human form, these forms are enchantments and not forms native to them, so they may only be held for limited amounts of time and usually consume magic to stay in these foreign shapes. Lower levels may only be able to shift into harmless forms, while those at higher levels can transform into mythical animals temporarily, or impersonate another being.
Rank: Rank D
Name: Hunting Form
Description: Werewolves are capable of turning to the shape of a wolf reflecting their own physical characteristics at will; typically taking only a few seconds to shift into this form. Although it takes time for freshly turned humans to attune to this form; it soon becomes natural to move and act in this form despite the difference to their human form due to their supernatural affinity to the wild. While in this form, werewolves lose the ability to communicate beyond basic signals via barks and howls and the ability to perform much in the way of coordinated tasks given their lack of opposable thumbs; but in turn have far greater agility than any human.
Nicole turns into a slender, black wolf with blue eyes, and blue markings around her legs that glow faintly. For being a wolf, her stature in this form is rather small comparatively to real wolves, but she's way more agile as a result.
Rank: -- Od: E ~ 20 - 4 = 16 OD left Strength: F Endurance: F Agility: E Name: Singing Strikes
Description: The cornerstone of the Martial art she developed herself, the Singing Strikes technique works using the environment around her to her own advantage, and focuses on incapacitating her target rather than killing it, blowing through guards, and hitting sensitive spots on the body, like the pressure points, with suprising accuracy. Gives a "+" strength modifier to Nicole, and a "-" modifier on the Agility of her target should an attack connect on a pressure point.
Rank: E
Type: Martial Art Technique.

The other people didn't exactly seem convinced by my show of confidence...if anything, I think it made me look stupid. Well...that didn't matter. I'll hold myself up to my promise if it came down to it...he just hoped he could. However, idle thoughts about his first impression vanished as he beheld the horrors he was sent to fight. Rather than get unnerved, he settled, calming down in the presence of a fight rather than tensing up. He was used to this. This was something he could do. This was something he could prove himself in, even to those people who thought he was worthless and worth throwing away. "Yes! I'm right behind you!" I follow behind the capable-seeming woman, a quick spell mouthing in my lips as I invoke Ravijojla's power. "Nech sa šelma zrodí, pohlcuje, hoduje." As I feel a surge of energy while growing slightly hungrier, a burst of flesh tears out of the muscle on my forearm, and a bladed tentacle protrudes from the painless extrusion. While he can't follow behind her quite as efficiently, his natural physical abilities as a vampire and the reach on his weapon allow him to generally manage to cover her effectively. While that was my main goal, I was also using my enhanced senses to keep tabs on the others in my group, so I could move to assist whoever required it. As I move into range, the tentacle flies, solid muscle uncoiling and striking with snakelike speed, seeking to sever the beast's neck from it's body. Just then, Ravi chooses the precise moment to intrude. "Of all the times I could hope that you'd act like a predator, you're still soft. You're not focusing! Don't make me regret contracting with you!" I ignore the words, keeping my focus on helping the others, even if it hinders my ability as an offensive force. Skills:
Name:Melee Weaponry (Natural Weapons)
Description:The ability to maintain and use the natural weapons that Kursten grows by invoking the power of his nature spirit.
Rank:E
Abilities:
Name:Enhanced Senses
Description:Becoming a creature superior to any normal human, vampires also have equally better senses. Many can even hear things that normal humans would not be able to. While others may have a sense of smell that are on the level or better than a dog's.
Rank:E
Blood: D 30-5=25 left Strength: E Endurance: E Agility: E
Name:Spawn Tentacle
Description:His contracted nature spirit allows for body modification of multiple variations, but this is the kind he has the best affinity with. A powerful, prehensile tool that can extend up to 10 meters, can be made bladed or spiny to increase it's effectiveness as a natural weapon, however if done so it is limited to 4 meters.

This group was certainly an odd one. But Tykki supposed that as long as they didn't actually turn on each other rather than the given opposition, it would be acceptable. Hopefully. The wolf girl seemed a little too eager to cause some trouble, and while his demonic side would not mind as much, he would rather this not end in a big failure. Nevertheless, the current issue were the three beasts in front of them having their meal. Too bad they weren't friendly. He would have prefered that kind of approach, was it possible. Alas, a fight was on. ''Alright. Be careful, three on one could be dangerous if they move in fast.'' The woman may have been only aiming for the one biting the bone, but the other two were bound to notice an assault, and there was no saying if the rest of them would be fast enough to help in case she got ganged upon. Well, he would most likely stay on the sidelines himself, as close combat was a last resort for him, so the best he could do is try to distract the other two while the first one gets knocked about.
Pulling out his handguns, he would take aim at the duo of beasts that were a bit away from the woman, moving a bit closer in case needed, attempting to shoot each one in the head. Although, anywhere would work, in case he wouldn't hit exactly where planned. The bullets would hurt regardless, which is what he was aiming for. He could have used his magic powers as well, but he wanted to see what would their current offense accomplish, before seriously wasting his powers. Perhaps overexerting wouldn't be needed with these. Afterall, it was five on three.Od: E - 20 Strength: E Endurance: F Agility: D Name: Firearms (Handguns) Description: The knowledge and skill of using ballistic weaponry in combat. Rank E is considered basic training, while rank D would be an expert – anything higher is more in the bounds of gun-kata styled feats. His main focus is on handguns, which is the type of firearm he uses normally. Rank: E
Name: Dual-Wielding Description: The skill of using two weapons and possessing enough familiarity of using both hands at the same time. Such skills allow the user to have more options in combat. Rank: E Name: Incendiary Rounds Rank: E Description: Firearm ammunition which contains incendiary compounds that ignite on impact with hard surfaces. Such rounds are useful when dealing with supernatural entities with a weakness to flames, especially vampires. Typically IACSB members bring only two magazines of this ammunition suitable for their firearms, given they are prone to unwarranted damage.

It seemed that the time to fight had come, after all we could not leave the murder of those poor people go unpunished. My team mates seemed to be focusing on the one with the bone, with the exception of one of them aiming for the other two. Seeing as they had the one with the bone likely handles, I decided to help out with the other two. Deciding it would be better to end it here and now if possible. I decided to not use my bow, but instead use my magic to inflict damage onto both of them at the same time. However, before I did so I warned the others to stay clear until the fireball subsided, saying "Be careful, I am going to burn them alive. Try to avoid getting close until the spell subsides."
Taking a deep breath to begin the process, I raised my palm and aimed carefully for the woman between the two animals. However, before casting, I would quickly ask for her forgiveness for the damage I was about to do to her body. Beginning to chant the incantation, I said, "O magna flamma, meos hostibos incende!" With that, the flames I commanded flew from my hand and went hurtling at the woman between the two horrors, before exploding into a meter wide ball of flame, catching them both in it.
Deciding to be on guard in case they weren't incapacitated by the blast, I readied an arrow with a fire amulet on my bow, and waited for the battle to begin in earnest, if it did. I could feel the urge to burn them rise in my blood, but I could keep it contained for now, at least until I had to cast a few more spells. Hopefully this battle would be over quickly so I wouldn't begin to feel the need to waste my mana. After all, the mission had just begun.
Name: Incende Incantation: O magna flamma, meos hostibos incende! The abhorrent sounds of the Horrors’ prior feasting seemed to have quite the opposite effect to unsettling Lili; instead seeming to get her all fired up – no, no; that was hers! She was hungry! Her team’s proclamations fell on deaf ears as the stoic girl darted around Nicole; bat twisting in the air as she swivelled her wrist. Although she was advancing towards the otherwise ignored third horror, left to what remained of its meal; Lili was caught off-guard by the blaze of fire the ignited by her – perhaps Arwen’s warning would have helped a little if she’d been listening, but in her current feral state the would-be werewolf was easily startled by the fireworks. Taken aback for the moment, the horror might have time for its own response to the ambush if it wasn’t as easily distracted or already confused by having dinner and a show. Once her mind was back on track after scrambling away from the fire; Lili would return her attentions to her prey – no, probably not prey; it looked foul to eat. Pecking at the corpses herself was a little tempting, but she wasn’t much of a fan of scavenging; much less dead meat to begin with. If she was going to treat herself to something human, then she’d want them alive… that’s what she felt would be best. Oh, of course, the greatest delicacy would be something of Arwen’s, but… that seemed a bit too greedy. She wasn’t a killer, anyway… just hungry… While the rest of the group seemed intent on using their own skills and techniques to match up with the horrors, Lili had no interest in being so calculated – instead, she would simply come crashing down on her victim with her baseball bat via and overhead swing; aiming to simply shatter its skull with the impractical weapon. However, while certainly an attack with killing intent behind it; Lili’s fury was as telegraphed and awkward as ever; if the blow was dodged she’d take a moment to regain her momentum and definitely leave herself open in the meantime.

ENGAGING COMBAT
The joys of a meal had made these animals too complacent. They were far too exposed in the open and would pay for their mistake. The element of surprise was in the hands of their enemies. But it was rather done in a haphazard and violent way. The first Horror mongrel that had the misfortune to be first to suffer from its complacence was the Horror that had been feasting on the mutilated corpse. This one felt its fangs clash together from a forceful kick from Nicole's technique. Immediately following up were Kursten's deadly tendrils that easily made a deep gash into its exposed neck. It gagged and frothed blood from its maw before collapsing and twitching on the ground. Tyki had shot into the duo that had been eaten the dead woman's corpse. Both bullets caused the other wolf to yelp and scream from the sudden shock of flames igniting its oily spiky hide. Unfortunately for them, Arwen's flames further engulfed the duo in scathing heat which spread the fire throughout its entire body. Lili's violent rush was unnecessary, but it did actually made sure one of the burning duo was actually put down as it her bat made a crunching noise from crushing against the Horror's skull that had been chewing on the woman's corpse. Now all three were dead and their way was clear.

Well... That certainly went better than expected. The teamwork was flawless, and the enemies had been dispatched pretty easily. "Phew... I guess that means we're done here. Good job." She gave everyone an approving smile, as she stuffed her weapons back into her suit. If only things had gone this well when she had encountered that werewolf, maybe... just maybe her life would've been considered somewhat normal.

Things...things went alright! Of course they would...why would I even question it? After all, they had the heir to the Turner family present with them...there was no way I'd fail to live up to what I said I would do! Still, I can't deny the shaking in my legs, or the huge wash of relief I felt. They were still far from done, but so far, I was keeping my promise, and I would continue to do that until this was simply a memory. "You're letting yourself be caught up in the struggles of weaklings. All that matters is you, them suffering and dying is of no consequence to the pursuit of strength." I sigh to myself...sometimes the spirit I contracted with was a hindrance, useful as she was. So long as my performance in support of these people were what I would be judged by, their well-being was my own.
"So, everyone's alright?" I ask, confirming what my senses were already telling me. No alluring scent of fresh blood, no labored breathing, no crunching bone...everyone seemed to be in good health. "If so, we should keep moving. This is just the first step...our objective is much further along." I would make it through this, as would the people alongside me. I was going to keep everyone safe. Coiling the spiked tentacle around my arm, I turn my attention deeper into the eerie black cave, and begin to walk forward towards our ultimate destination, and whatever horrors awaited us. Nothing would be worse than what I'd
