This place was almost too peaceful right now. Definitely not what Raphael was really used to during most days. Ironically, the local beach was probably one of the worst picks to make in case one is not looking for some peace. Alas, sometimes things just happen, regardless of the original aim. And on second thought, he didn't really mind a small break from the sounds of a crowded city. They can get really crazy at times, and he liked keeping his ability to focus decently enough. Hard to do with many people around. On the flip side, it didn't really matter when there was no one instead, but maybe he could try watching the fish swim. Were there even any in the sea? The idea of finding out was somewhat entertaining, but that would require getting either into the water, or at least close to it. Frankly, Raphael didn't think the current weather was very ideal for that, and cold water was far from pleasant. Maybe he'd just stick to observing the waves. Certainly more boring, but what could he do here? Build sand castles? Nah, that wasn't like him. Getting sand everywhere would just dampen his mood. He was a wolf, not a desert snake, so he obviously had little reason to be into sandy enviroments.
...nor was he in the appropriate get up for 'swimming' anyway, since this happened just as a detour, not a planned trip. The slight breeze blowed his white coat around slightly, as he took off the black sunglasses he was wearing, amber eyes scanning over the water nearby. It was a wonder how was he still entertained by this. Maybe he was having a good day, as normally he would probably have already wandered off somewhere else, finding the scenery fairly boring. And it kind of was. But for now, he remained where he was.
''If only the sound of people was as catchy as splashing waves....'', he would mutter aloud, pretty much talking to himself.

Exploring the beach had been something that Nicole had been avoiding for a good long while now. Not intentionally, mind you, but still, she never really had a reason to go there... Not during the fall or winter that just passed... Nor did it make much sense for her to go there now either, but... She couldn't hold it off any longer. As a kid, and young teen, she loved to go to the beach with her friends... Especially during the summer, when the water was warm enough to actually bathe in... but now, she would just be giving herself a cold should she jump in...
After a good long while thinking, she eventually departed for the beach, in her usual get up... Today, she picked a maroon tie, to match with her hair. Not that it really mattered much to her, but if nothing else, it would look pleasant to the eye for those that cared. Walking around in a black suit like this already got her some strange looks, but what could she do? Old Habits die hard. When she finally made it to the beach, she expected herself to be the only one there, barring the fish, and the rumored Octupus monster... Only to find that she wasn't alone here... A white haired young man stood by the edge of the sea, staring blankly into the ocean. "Isn't it a bit too cold for a dip?" Nicole said with a light chuckle, as she approached him from behind.

For once, Raphael was a bit too busy watching something, namely the water in this case, to notice someone walking close by right away. ''Hm...?'', he would turn his head to look towards the source of the sound that managed to break his concentration. Oh, it semeed he had some company all of a sudden. An interesting one nonetheless. Besides, the ocean would entertain him only for so long, so he wasn't particularly bothered by being disturbed just yet. ''It is. I just took a detour from the main road. I'm not here to actually swim.'', he would answer after a moment of regarding her with his amber eyes. ''Are you?'', he'd ask while trying to figure out if there was a reason why she approached him aside from asking him a random question. Although he most likely wouldn't know unless she told him. Or maybe she actually just wanted to socialize, and he was the only person here. Which would raise the question as to why go to a lonely beach to begin with. While he did pose her a question, her choice of attire made it very likely that the answer was no, unless she planned on swimming in a suit. He kind of doubted that, as much as some people knew how to be strange.

"Well, I guess I could say the same. I'm just exploring the city and the surrounding areas a bit, that's all." Nicole replied with a light shrug. "The name's Nicole, by the way. Nicole Henley." She offered the man a handshake. "Are you new around these parts?" She asked, somewhat curiously. Well, with how big Lakecrest was, it really shouldn't be a suprise for her to see someone new, especially considering she had only lived here for about five months. Plus... there was something about him which felt... familiar somehow... Call it a gut feeling, or whatever else you might classify it as, but Nicole had this sneaking suspicion he wasn't like a normal human. Then again, her gut feeling had been wrong before.

''...and making small talk with random people I see.'', he'd comment towards her answer, although his tone wasn't exactly one of displeasure over the fact. He was simply making a statement. In the end, he wasn't all that interested in finding out why was she spending time chatting him up when she was out there to explore, but it was something to give a bit of thought to at least. Somehow, by this point he doubted she had a big reason for doing so, thus he would go with the flow for now. ''Raphael Kinn. Hello.'', he would return the courtesy with a faint smile as he accepted the handshake. Was she trying to make friends? ''You could say I am. I usually wander around, so I haven't been staying here for long. I'm normally not a city person.'' He didn't dislike those places, but he still prefered natural settings a bit more than all those technical matters. And it meant mingling with humans as well. ''Is there a reason why you care?'', he'd ask a moment later, looking her up and down. He was certainly running into odd people lately, but it's not like he knew what she really was in the end.

"Heh, I guess so." Nicole said with a light chuckle. This one amused her quite a bit. An odd guy, but who said being odd was a bad thing? Besides, it looked like he could use some... "Company. I was in need of some company, that's all." Well, she didn't exactly tell him the real reason why. "Nice to meet you, Raphael." Making friends wasn't perhaps what she was trying here... she was moreso being friendly. Her stern outlook on life had somewhat faded away since she moved here, and trying to talking to others surely helped. Not perhaps the most sociable woman on the planet, but she could make herself due with what capacity for interaction she had. "Ah, I see." So he was sort of Nomadic? It did sound a little odd to her at first, but in the end, she wasn't here to judge his lifestyle. The two had just met and all that, after all. "I guess I'm sort of like that? Not a city person... But Lakecrest is different. I really like it here, for some reason." Well, as long as she stayed far away from Charlotte, anything would suffice. And it just so happened that Lakecrest was a city she turned out to like. Coincidence? Maybe... but she wasn't going to leave town anytime soon.
"Not really? I was just curious, that's all." she answered Raphael with a light smile... Yeah, something definitely felt familiar with him... perhaps she ought to keep in touch with him in the future, by any chance...? And he didn't seem to be a bad person either. Making friends or not, she was most certainly interested in this man...

''Company. How about the fish? You're lucky I'm even here. I was considering leaving soon, as sea watching gets boring very quickly.'' Was he joking? Hard to tell. But he did find it odd how she spoke about company now when just a moment ago she claimed she was on the beach to explore the region. Thus, she hasn't been specifically looking for living company. Seeing as there was a small chance that anyone would be at the beach right now, with the weather not being really acceptable for actually taking a swim just yet. The fact he was here at the moment was just pure coincidence for her, pretty much. ''Likewise.'', he'd return giving her a sharp look. There was nothing else to say to that. He would keep looking at her for a bit before putting his black sunglasses back on with a faint shrug afterwards. Was this city different? He hadn't bothered thinking on that yet. It was strangely calm for the kinds of people hanging around here, but that was as much as he could really tell. ''I don't mind the city. As long as people don't bother me about certain things, I'm fine with it. How long I stay around depends on whether it keeps my attention or not.'' He'd have to decide on that after some time passed. For now he could stay. It's not like moving around is pleasant to do without a break once in a while.
''That's a strange thing to be curious about, miss. I'd sooner expect someone that I just met to ask about my age or the like rather than whether I'm new or not. It changes little for a person that doesn't really know me yet.'' What would she gain from knowing that little fact? Nothing really, since he was here, whether he was a new resident or not. In this case, the end result kind of mattered more. That's what he'd say, at least.

"Well, I guess I am." Well, yeah. Not that she would've stayed here for too long had he not been here. At most, she would've dipped her toes in the water if she felt frisky, but that's it. "For me, I'm a little torn myself. As you said, it depends on the city itself. I really don't like places like say London or New York. Too busy, stressful and the fumes from the cars around doesn't do them any favors." Smog was never a fun thing to deal with. She remembered that school trip to San Francisco that was mostly spent doing nothing due to the sudden smog... It was not a pleasant experience to go outside. At all.
"Neh. I was just curious, that's all." She replied with a light shrug. "Well, now that you mention it... How old are you?" Nicole resisted the urge to giggle. He had brought this one on himself.

''Next time maybe don't pick the beach in a weather like this when you want company.'' Or you might just not get anything besides a breeze of wind going past you ocassionally. Which is not even company. Raphael would shrug. ''Cities usually stink. But that's the fault of humans themselves.'' One of the reasons why more natural places were just better to hang out at instead of a populated city or town. He was not really a fan of those in general. They held little advantage to him aside from perhaps minor details at times.
Well then. ''24.'', he would answer simply, leaving it at that. He couldn't exactly protest seeing as she chose to take his own idea.

"Hehe..." Nicole replied awkwardly, scratching the back of her head. "Well... I guess so. I mean, it's not like I had much to do today anyway. And seeing as I haven't explored much of town until today, I thought visiting the beach would be nice, I suppose." IT was a really odd decision of hers, now that she really thought about it, but... what could you do? If one wanted to explore, then you went exploring, no matter how silly it might look to other people. Nicole had rarely paid any mind as to what other people thought about her, which was a double-edged sword in a way.
"Hm? Yeah, I guess not, huh." Lakecrest was at least better than London, being a much smaller city, but still, it wasn't without it's own share of problems. Most notably the ghetto... That place, Nicole had refused to visit before... and today wasn't any different. People were scary and un-trustworthy over there, judging by the rumors she heard about the place. The place was downright dangerous... Not that she couldn't defend herself, should push come to shove, but... Nicole would rather let the fact that she was indeed not a human to remain a secret. There was something about him still that felt familiar... "...You're not... like them, huh?" She asked, sort of intrigued. It had been a long time since she last met one of her kind, even in Lakecrest... If her hunch was right, then yes, he was indeed one of her kind...

''And I'm just stating a fact. Technically, you don't need to explain yourself to me, as it changes nothing about the fact that you are indeed here right now. Why doesn't really matter as long as it doesn't include any superior motives.'' Curiosity was a thing, but in the end, her reasons meant nothing specific to him. She could have gotten lost for all he cared, and the situation would have been more or less the same as it is now. In a way, he had just sort of been deadpanning at her, since there was not a lot he found important to say to a stranger that approached him out of the blue with no exact purpose. Not like she was bringing up an engaging small talk topic either. He had little to say about big cities for he was nor a fan of them, nor has lived in one seriously in the past.
Guess not what? He didn't remember saying something worded in a way that could warrant such a response. Unless she was still talking about the whole choosing to come to the beach thing. Regardless, there was nothing he really had to say to such a vague guess so statement anyway. For now at least. ''Hm?'' Them? Did she mean the humans that polluted cities he was refering to a while ago? That one made the most sense. ''Maybe. Depends on who you mean by 'them' specifically.'' Better make sure first. He was confident in himself, but he would not rather say yes/no while not being sure what was he actually confirming for sure.

Hm... What he said made sense... "I guess not, but I felt like I at least owed you an explanation for rudely bumping in like this, ehehe..." Nicole said with an awkward look on her face. "Oh, ehm... Nevermind me." The woman said sort of awkwardly, looking at her wristwatch. Well, she was just assuming things but... the way he worded it made her slightly suspicious... Perhaps he was indeed one of her kind? Well, she wouldn't pry into it now... That would have to wait for another time. If they ever met again, that is. "Well, I should be going. Don't wanna take up more of your time than necessary. I hope you have a nice day, Raphael." She said with a smile before turning around, and leaving the area. Now then, where to next...?~ Nicole Henley has left the scene ~
