Hey there. Thanks for coming and giving this place a look.
Chaotic Order is an Urban Fantasy Roleplay in a setting where the supernatural is not a dirty secret anymore and the history of the world is different from ours. It is made to be a setting where politics comes into play between various supernatural factions where their decisions may change the world. And thus, many supernatural races and factions can be played, thus providing you a wide range of freedom in terms of character creation. Please read these rules below and adhere to them if you wish to stay around and be involved. I hope you have an enjoyable stay.

GENERAL RULES
Please remember that on top of these Rules, we must also adhere to Proboard's Community Guidelines as we are using this forum host. Be sure to adhere to them or else it will cause everyone problems. Thank you.
1. Accounts
Only one account per person on this site. This means not creating multiple accounts per character made. This makes communication and RP tracking easier. Sub-accounts will be made if necessary.
2. Personal Information
No one around here should be asking for your personal details or other details such as your account's password and other pertaining information. It goes without saying that you should withhold information if someone is asking it of you. Report to staff and we'll deal with it. You may feel free to share e-mails or other such details of your own volition. But you are not forced to give them out, other than the automated sign-up procedure.
3. Decency
Sometimes we all tend to have short tempers or have that little inkling of wanting to poke fun of others. Just behave yourself and everything should be fine. A little bit of joking is fine here and then. But if something goes too far, it's advisable that you cease and desist. Cursing is fine, but just don't overdo it. People of 13 years old of age can access this place. So watch yourself. If in doubt, ask staff or moderators.
Some List of No-No's As An Example:
- No pornographic or offensive images.
- No racist, sexist or other words designed to cause harm or offense.
- No trolling or bullying of members.
- Discussing members in a negative light publicly for malicious purposes. Do it privately and keep it to yourselves.
- Links to site that are not 13 year old age appropriate.
- Links to illegal downloads or video streaming sites.
- No impersonating any other member or staff.
4. Warnings
Most of it will be done case by case with staff and moderator collaboration.
5. English
Thanks to the power of the Internet, we are all connected all over the world it is not a surprise if any of you are bi-lingual or know more languages. But we keep it English here. Don't worry, so as long as you try your best in your posts and make it as understandable as possible, we're usually okay with grammar. If you're having your character speak another language, please be sure to have a translation noted somewhere in your post. As far as word count goes for posts, there is none, but at least do your best to give enough content for your RP partner to work with and not simply react.
6. Character Creation
The fun part of the RP. Please follow the format of the Character Templates of your desired race in the Profile Information. Be sure to read every relevant information as there is important lore that you must know. As of the moment the number of characters you may make is THREE. This number is subject to change in the future.
- New members are allowed to have one character. Making more will depend on how many people are trying to create characters. If many people are making one, then you may only make another character only a week after your newly approved one. If there are not that many people, then you may make one after you have posted a couple of times with your newly approved one. These phases will be announced by staff. Be sure to keep an eye on them.
- Abandoned characters (for any reasons) will be moved to the Archives.
- As of this moment, everyone is to start with the lowest starting ranks for their characters since this is a new site.
- Until further advancement in plot, only characters from the Human section may be made.
- Please do not make unnecessary connections with important NPCs without staff approval.
- Please do not merely make complete copies of characters from established series. At least some form of creativity is encouraged.
- You may create NPC's, but they are to be graded. However, some may not be allowed. Such as high-ranking ones in factions, that is something for the Staff to do. Or any form of an "uber-powerful" character. We are very well aware that the NPC section can be abused in this manner. Please do remember staff members may rp the NPC's at times and other times we may ask for permission. And of course, you may ask us to rp them out for you at times.
7. Plagiarism
Some people are just lazy or lack creativity. Please do not plagiarize things from other forums or stuff from our forums. This will cause issues between other forums as well. So do not do it. If you wish to use material from our site, please be sure to ask first. Do not make this an issue or you will be banned. This also means not plagiarizing from wikis.
8. Activity
Real life will bite you in the ass like everyone else. So here are some ground rules about this.
- If someone is not responding, you may wait up a week before moving on without them. This is only if they haven't given anyone the heads up. If they have given a warning about their inactivity, then you may end up waiting for that specific estimated time they are gone. Even then, if you are gone for a long time, please at least try to give members a means to move on without you if possible.
- If there is an emergency that you may have to leave the site for an extended period of time, please let us know here in a new thread explaining your situation. Give us an approximate time of when you can come back. If you are not back by then, you are given a grace period of a week to come back or give us an update on the situation. If you are still not back by then and fail to contact us, we will move on and assume you are inactive.
- However, there maybe some events in where we cannot wait too long and must move on. A huge plot event will require some invested activity. It is required that you let us know what will be happening to you or we will either move on without you or perhaps get you killed. The latter very unlikely.
- Now after your emergency period and you give an update that you need more time, we will allow members to move on through the thread or event without you if necessary. Your character will never be killed so as long as it is not a dire Plot Event.
- If you simply wish to leave the site, you may have the choice of either letting your characters die or have them live and "disappear" from the plot. They will be archived regardless. Unless they're very plot important characters.
- In the case that you disappear and could not get a hold of us until your subsequent and random return, your characters maybe archived and have "disappeared" from the plot. Not killed, depending. If you are not active in time for the monthly Activity Check, you will be marked inactive and all characters are archived.
- You maybe excused from Activity Check so as long as you inform us of your reasons for your inactivity. Whether your reasons are good enough or not, is up to us. But don't worry, we will be understanding.
9. Tags
Because this is a forum completely dedicated to roleplaying, each thread is a separate event for people's respective characters. Due to this, it is possible to reserve a thread with only a select few. However, staff alone are allowed the power to intervene if necessary and appropriate. If they are found abusing their power, they may be questioned and/or punished by staff alone.
Tags serve as a sign of who gets to join the thread. When you are making a new thread, there is the Subject on the top where you may put in the thread title. Next to the title, add in a [Tag] next to it. Just remember to put in brackets around each tag. They are symbolized below as follows:
- No Tags: If there are no tags, then anyone can join. The thread is open.
- [Open]: Like above. Anyone can join if they wish.
- [Closed]: Only the thread creator is allowed in or sometimes Staff who play NPCs. This is usually used for solo training or something.
- [Locked]: Thread interactions are finished. Tag to be added once event is finished.
- [Private]: Only those invited may join.
- [Member/Character Name]: Thread reserved for thread creator and character/member names only. A list of names can be added too for additional members to join.
- [No Combat]: Non-combat thread. Tag to stress non-violent interactions.
- [No Death]: Fights may be allowed, but no deaths. However, you will never see this in a Plot Event as you must be prepared for your character to die.
- [WIP]: Thread that has yet to be finished. Do not join until it is finished and the tag is gone. Usually used for character creation.
- [Mission]: Mission thread. Succeeding in finishing the Mission may give you rewards. But failure may give you nothing or death.
- [Plot Event]: Plot Event thread. Something will happen to advance the plot. Expect death if you are not careful.
Now there may be times when some threads may not warrant a [Member/Character Names] [Closed], [Private], [No Combat], or [No Death] tag. We encourage members to discuss among themselves whether the thread of interest warrants any of these tags. If a consensus cannot be reached, please relay the problem to the Plot Staff. They will decide whether it warrants it or not.
10. Meta-gaming
Sometimes in RP, there will be meta-gaming issues. Let us assume Character A was leaving a place where Character B was in. Character B will not know A has left even if they were in the same place. But let us assume that the RPer of Character B thinks B should know that A left. That is invalid.
You must post in the same thread that A is leaving that Character B seen or somehow found out that A left. That is then valid. This is to prevent any issues about meta-gaming.
11. Character Tracker
The Character Tracker sub-forum is what allows people to get a better view of your individual character. Including the relationships that your character has with others he/she has met. You may make a separate thread for each character you possess. Follow the rules about it and make sure the information is correct for the sake of better roleplaying.
12. Combat
The Chaotic Order RP also thrives upon combat threads. There can be deaths. So if you don't want to fight, just be smart about it.
- If you have issues about a fight, post a request thread for Staff to take a look at it. The section for it will be made in the future.
- Make sure to set up the scenario with your fighting RP partner unless you're fighting for keeps.
- Be clear of what the environment of the fight will be like.
- You may jump in the fight if there's the necessary tags. But it's best to ask permission first so that there won't be tempers rising.
- No meta-gaming or god-modding.
- You may even set up fights outside of the RP in other boards outside of "In RP" areas. Remember such fights will have no bearing at all to the plot or anything. It's mostly just fighting without anything affecting anyone's relationship with another.
13. Plot/Mission Participation
Please, if you are going to participate in a Mission thread or a specific Plot thread, ask the Staff first if they are going to post up the Opening to set up the situation/event. That way people don't get ahead of themselves and try to run the thread themselves when Staff should be doing it. It is also important to be clear what you, the participating role-players, are doing in said thread if you are going to be making the Opening Post yourselves.
If a puzzle or anything similar pops up, please do no try to solve it unless your character is related, has come in contact with it, has necessary skills or abilities to solve, and/or all of the above. There will be more rules about this later on.
