Appearance: Not very tall to her age but still holding a great body, Yun's 157 cm tall and weights 47 Kg. She doesn't look like it but she's a food lover, always eating what she can and her favorite food being sweets. It is only thanks to her daily training that she's able to keep such a good figure with all she eats. She has a beautiful waist long blueish-purple hair and bright red eyes that often gets her mistaken by a vampire making her life a bit troublesome. At a first glance one would never think of such a girl being capable of fighting or even able to protect herself, yet she's very well trained and at a closer look people could see her arms and legs muscles clearly marked thanks to her training. Yun's also still very feminine, she never goes out without a bit of make up and creams that she uses to protect her skin from the sun. "A girl must always be strong and pretty!" after all.
Yun's clothing have always been very simple without much variations to it. She loves to wear Cheongsams and she has a closet full of them of different colors and designs, the reason behind this is that it helps her remind her where she comes from and also making her feel a bit at home when she wears them. Her favorite one when she's not working is a long-sleeved aquamarine one that goes with a pair of tai chi black shoes and short pants that matches. At work, she brings a red Cheongsam with a short short to contrast with her maid uniform. A view that the clients really love when they visit the cafe she works on.
Personality: Yun's personality, for short, can be described as indecisive, impulsive, childish, meddlesome, manipulative, cold and only warm with the ones she care for. All of this mixture comes from her isolation from the external world, being locked away until she was ready to leave and without knowing much about the outside world shaped who once was a charming, sweet child into a rude and sometimes immature teen. Yun would rather spend her days on her own exploring around and enjoying things by herself than having any kind of company with her, she feels that people only wants to take advantage of her or worse, trick her into horrible things... This ends up into having her answer rudely, yell or just ignore people when they try to approach her.
Whenever Yun is happy or she's spending time with someone she trusts or care for, she shows a completely different side of her that people would never expect from her. She becomes more extrovert, playful, and would even joke around if given the chance. She will hardly stop smiling while she's happy and no matter what she won't let anyone take it away.
Not everything is hot and cold for Yun, there are moments when she finds herself sad, depressed or even feeling like she has no purpose in this world. This all is mostly due being left on her own, not having anyone around her or fear of not finding a suitable bride/husband to get married to before she gets older.
Yun's also not really fond of making friends or being romantically involved with anybody, her school traditions had always prohibited her from having such bonds as they only interfere with the balance of her body and soul. Deep inside of her she actually wishes she got a few friends and a lover of her own but she's got no guts nor the will to make it happen on her own. To her friends, Yun will more likely treat them all like the family she didn't have... To her lover, she'll give them all the love and affection that she's got to give as she was taught that there's only 1 person out there for her, If she messes it up there won't be another chance, or so she believes.
During combat Yun becomes an entirely different person. She almost seems to be soulless when she's fighting, ignoring everybody around her and becoming almost like a puppet moved only by the instincts of her body. While this is only half true, Yun is in a stance where she becomes deeply focused on what she's doing shutting herself down from the external world. Only successfully moving her out of her center will take her back to normal.
History: All that is known for Yun is that she was abandoned in the forests of north-east China when she was a baby, the reasons for her are unknown and she has no wish of ever knowing what happened. A monk of a nearby village who was passing by collecting supplies found her and adopted her, He was probably the closest thing to a family that Yun ever had during her early childhood. The monk raised her and named her Yun, just like his mom who took good care of him when he was young. Sadly, he didn't have the resources to take care of the baby by himself and a few weeks later he had to give her away to the nearest temple. This way he would be ensuring Yun's future for better and not doom her to a hard life. "Anything is better than this Yun..."
When Yun was old enough to stand up by herself and speak, her new adoptive family and head of the temple, the Kwei-Liu decided to greet her into the family. One of the greatest honors for someone who was not blood related to them but also the hope of a promising heir that would make the clan great again when the time come for it. After being officially accepted in the family, her fate was sealed for now and she would be sealed away inside the temple where she would start her training in the arts of the Mai Tao Xu for the sake of her family.
Little can be said about Yun's childhood and teenager life, she spent every year training every aspect of a Ki artist. She was prohibited to leave the school and even socialize with the other students. She also never had anything to complain about as she always was grateful with her family for taking good care of her. All she could really do to repay them was to become what they wanted her to be.
Not all her life was a constant training, before a Ki Artist, Yun was a girl and a girl of the Kwei-Liu family had to learn not only how to be a good Ki Artist but also to be a good wife. During this time Yun spent most of her days training and learning etiquette. To be tough inside, yet pretty and soft in the outside. Yun was 16 years old by this time and she had already a lot of marriage propositions from other families, all of them rejected as she swore that she would only marry a person that she could consider her "true love". This decision although not shared by her family, it was respected. Yun was a great heir and they wouldn't ask more from such an obedient child.
At Yun's 18th birthday she was now old enough to do whatever she wanted to. She managed to learn all the teachings of the Mai Tao Xu that her masters and elders had for her and also learned not to hurt but to protect the ones who needed her. She had never been outside the gates of her school but she felt that her place was somewhere else. Yun gathered some courage and talked to her family about her wish, they didn't oppose it and instead wanted to support her. If she was going to seek out her destiny outside then she might as well get all the help she could get, after all Yun was not going to forget about her training and one day she would make the clan great again.
Yun had traveled almost all over the world for a year, meeting strange people and facing different kind of enemies. Trying to find her place in the world is difficult but destiny had always weird turns for Yun. In one of her travels she found herself in what seemed to be the rests of a battlefield, she managed to rescue only 1 person but little did she know who she was rescuing. After the person was healed she presented herself as a member of the Martial Forest Coalition, she explained their situation and formally asked her to join. Yun also explained her situation but it was alright for the stranger, someone with her talents would always be useful for the coalition.
After such a weird meeting she became acquaintance with the woman she saved and her new master who had already recruited her into the Coalition, she promised to look upon Yun but that for now she would have to travel alone. Her new master pointed her in the direction of the Lakecrest City and gave her instructions to find there a member of the group she had joined for further instructions. Both girls now had different paths to follow and Yun wouldn't let anyone down.
Setting up in a new place can be hard, for Yun this would be even harder. She knew nobody and she only had a few coins left enough for a few nights before being left out to live on the streets. Before finding a member of the Coalition she'd first have to get a job, luckily for her while she was looking around the town for cheap places to stay she stumbled upon what seemed to be a very refined restaurant (Actually a Maid café). Yun's eyes brightened as she ran inside, they were hiring new employees and none of the candidates there matched her beauty and elegance. Those etiquette classes with the grandma really paid off for her. She got the job but oddly for her, her uniform would be different from the other maids, it was not something that mattered for her and the place to stay was not going to be a problem either since the boss knew someone who could rent a room for her. Finally Yun's life was taking a good turn and all that was left to do for her was to find that someone of her group.
STYLE INFORMATION
Style Name: Mai Tao Xu
Specialties: Based on old Taoist beliefs (True Balance). This style provides the user perfect control of their Ki plus an extra sense of the energy around them allowing them to learn, predict and counter attacks that would otherwise harm them. Students in this art are not really taught into any specific kind of offensive or defensive art, they instead have their mind and body trained for years until its suitable to sense and understand the flow of Ki inside of them, around them and how it flows in other people too. This understanding grants the students the ability to adapt to the circumstances and threats that they might encounter in their life. Students that have their mind and body reach this level are considered graduated from the school and no longer need to remain there at all.
The known combat records of the Mai Tao Xu have nothing about their users using any part of their body or a weapon to win their battles, they instead have won every one of them by having their enemy willingly accept defeat or have them knock themselves out. Practitioners of this school are taught to value life in all forms and to avoid unnecessary deaths at all cost. Although not really an specific art or style, Mai Tao Xu students make use of their hands and feet to defend themselves, be it by redirecting an attack or evading it but never blocking it or parrying it.
History: A root style that originated from Taoist teachings and mostly forgotten through all China, the Mai Tao Xu school existence is only known by a few who wish to be able to survive in this world. The school once used to be known for their great quality of students and practitioners, however, greater schools and other offensive oriented school gained more fame leaving this one in the shadows. The time passed and the elders of the school decided to only teach a small group of students every generation, a group of 5 which will later on be reduced to one gifted child who would inherit all the secrets of this art. Doomed to stop existing one day, the elders have accepted such fate for the school, however they have a small hope for a single student to bring fame and reputation back to it. Maybe and just maybe enough to bring this old tradition back to life.
STATISTICS
Ki: E (20 units) - Yun's Ki training efforts are shown here. Years of physical training for her mind and body have now paid off and she has now more freedom to make use of Ki techniques for her defense. Her body now acting as a Ki Vessel will only suffer from high physical stress when using Ki techniques too frequently or when pushing herself to the limits.
Strength: F - Never actually focusing on her physical strength other than building up resistance for the stress that comes with Ki handling, Yun's not capable to hold a fair fight with anybody; she instead uses her enemy's power against them.
Endurance: F - Probably laughable by ex members of her school. The lowest you could get but the necessary to achieve the endurance needed to stay conscious during combat while using Ki techniques. A very hard person to land a blow on thanks to her Ki style but if hit it'll more likely mean defeat for her.
Agility: E - At E rank is more than enough for Yun to be able to perform her Ki moves and react just in time against incoming attacks. She got this rank was only thanks to her rough training for years in her school.
LOADOUT
Equipments: N/A
Uniforms:
Name: Cheongsam with matching short pants
Description: Is the dress that most westerners associate with China. It is a long, close-fitting dress with short sleeves, a slit up one side, a mandarin collar (a round, stand-up collar that is worn close to the neck), and a fastening across the right side of the upper chest. The cheongsam, also known as the qi-pao or the cheung sam, is considered the national dress of Hong Kong, a major island off the coast of China. Though outsiders see the cheongsam as typically Chinese, in fact the dress represents a mixing of Chinese and Western clothing styles.
For combat purposes Yun makes use of the Cheongsam only a bit past her waist, followed by a matching pair of short pants that allows flexibility and freedom of movement for her.
Name: Cheongsam with Maid Apron and Accessories
Description: Not so different from her usual combat attire the differences are notable as the Cheongsam is now covered by a Maid uniform and her pants changed by short shorts under her dress. This attire was specially made up for her in order to attract more clients to the Cafe she works on.
CAPABILITIES
Skills:
Name: Unarmed Melee (Mai Tao Xu Style)
Description: A Ki art style unique to the Mai Tao Xu School that uses the opponent's own energy against them, be it by redirecting their attacks or simply by evading them. Not really a skill that inflicts damage on its own yet it requires a lot of focus to be executed properly. If the user is distracted or shows insecurity, they will NOT be able to perform this skill at all and more likely will fail in the process.
Rank: E
Abilities:
Name: Ki Manipulation
Description: The ability to manipulate Ki. This is made possible through training and meditation to unlock a person's Ki Center. By doing so allows the practitioner to reach superhuman levels of fitness through the manipulation of Ki. Or even allowing a Ki Artist to infuse a weapon with Ki in order to enhance it to perform techniques. At this level, Yun have a good balance of her Ki and the way it flows through her body to others allowing healing effects to apply easily.
Rank: E
Name: Ki Flow (Mai Tao Xu Style)
Description: The ability to change how the Ki flows through the body. This is only possible when one's Ki is in perfect harmony within the body. It allows the practitioner to change their target's Ki flow making it easier for them to change the direction at will. This is not a harmful Ability and the change of flow will never harm the target, it will only temporary change the flux on the extremity being touched by the practitioner making it easier for them to control them for a short moment. As a student Yun can make use of this skill but for a very short time. She has yet to learn how to change the Flow of the Ki and she's only capable of stopping its flux for a very short time when used defensively.
Rank: E
Name: Mental Strength
Description: The capacity of one's ability to resist mental interference. It should not be confused with Bravery as that ability is more focused on persevering through fear. Where fear could still be a factor in which this ability may not be able to cope with. Yun's lifetime mental and body training have shaped her mind to stay calm and focused under any circumstance allowing her to develop great resistance against interference that would otherwise break her center and balance.
Rank: E
Techniques:
Name: Qigong Stance - Mai Tao xu style (Awaken)
Description: Prior entering combat in the Mai Tao form Yun first goes through Qigong Stance, a Chinese art that gives her access to higher realms of awareness and awakens her true nature. After entering Qigong Stance Yun's body becomes ready to let the Ki flow freely inside her. After the effect is gone her awareness and true nature will be gone but the free Ki flow will remain until the combat is over. This Technique is mainly used by Yun to quickly enter her Mai Tao Xu form without problems or delay. This technique can only be used once per mission. Yun can also make use of awaken to recover Units lost by using the Healing Ki technique.
Rank: E
Cost: 4 Units
Type: Circulation
Name: Wu-xing Qigong - Healing Ki
Description: Being taught in the ways of the Mai Tao Xu wasn't only for self defense and the defense of others, a few members of the school have developed ways of healing internal wounds by directly changing, blocking, unblocking, stopping or adding Ki to it. Yun's Ki flow in combat is unstable but when used for healing purposes she excels at it, although still a student Yun is able to heal minor internal wounds, muscles or even fix the Ki flow of an individual by using her own. Yun can make use of this skill for as long as she has Ki left for it. Ki used this way to heal others will not be restored unless she enters and stays in Qigong Stance (Recovers 1 Unit every 2 posts during Qigong Stance until all units wasted by this Technique are recovered).
Rank: E
Cost: 6 Units
Type: Circulation
Name: Mai Tao Xu Form - (Balance of Ki - Needs Qigong Stance to be active in order to enter Mai Tao Xu Form)
Description: Yun's combat form and her last resource if avoiding battle is not an option. The Mai Tao Xu form is a technique that makes use of Yun's Ki to break the limits of her body allowing her to gain five positive modifiers ("+++++") to one parameters. During the Mai Tao Xu Form, every time Yun successfully counters or evades an attack, her boosted parameter will return back to normal but she will also suffer a negative modifier "-" to one parameter, to a maximum of 5. Yun's body and mental training however have made her a stubborn woman, she will only stop making use of this technique after the danger is over, her allies are safe from danger, she passes out from the stress put in her body or if she's killed.
Rank: E
Cost: 4 Units at activation > 3 Units extra per post after its activation and if she successfully countered or evaded an attack.
