Shaw walked into the nest of regrets with a calm look in his face. HE has been looking for this swordsman that Kogami mentioned him a while ago but didn’t seem to be having any luck. Kogami did hear of some sort of information broker and he figured that paying this individual off for some exchange of information might be in his best interest. “…..” When shaw walked in, he immediately took a seat at the front of the bar and asked the bartender for a drink. “ A shot of Scotch, on the rocks” Shaw would wait for his drink in silence while he gathered his thoughts Bartender, I was wondering. Do you know of a rumor that some sort of “information broker hangs out here? ”It was straightforward as Shaw watched the bartender. Abilities used Name: Psychiatry

It seemed to be another quiet night for the Nest of Regrets. Though the usual bartender was absent today, only his aide was holding down the fort as he was busy cleaning off the glasses for the next night. It was very late, of course. But so was this establishment when it came to closing down for the rest of the evening. The bell that hung near the door chimed in a new arrival. The aide gave a cursory glance at the newcomer. He seemed rather sharp for a night like this. And armed. There could really be one thing he really wanted. "Coming right up, sir. That'll be six dollars," he acknowledged Shaw with a nod as he started to retrieve a bottle of desired beverage. As a glass full of ice and scotch was given to the swordsman, the question he was waiting for was finally asked. A knowing smile started to spread on the aide's face, "Yes, there is one. But..."His eyes darted back to the glass. It should be fairly obvious to Shaw that he wanted something in return for that order. As soon as Shaw would have given him the necessary fee, the aide started to wipe off another wet glass that he had just been cleaning up before Shaw's arrival. "You could try Miss Harper over there. I'd be careful if I were you," he said to his new customer with a mischievous wink. He nodded his head towards the direction of said person. While still retaining his smile, the aide would leave Shaw to his devices and went back to work until he was needed once more. "I have been waiting for you, Mister Shaw." The direction that the aide gestured towards was at a very young girl. To Shaw, it almost looked as if he was looking towards a doll. A rather animated doll with her fingers tenting below her delicate chin. She was looking back towards Shaw as if she had been waiting for him this whole time. Her smile was certainly faint, but curious.

Shaw took out a ten dollar bill and placed it on the table next to the glass. “The change is yours to keep, you can consider that as your tip. “With that being said, Shaw had a sip of the glass and got up from his chair, walking over to the individual that the bartender pointed out to be some sort of information broker. He wondered how much this would cost him in the first place. The first thing that Shaw did was observe the woman, he couldn’t necessarily tell what her age was or anything immediate of the sort. He could only tell that she was young, and the way that she beckoned him over seemed as if she overheard the conversation. However, saying Shaw’s name changed all of the doubt he had about this woman being an information broker. Even the fact that someone would know his name in a bar he never been in, from a person he never met, and as to why the information would be worth something to someone in the first place; it all aligned under the circumstance that each kind of information is worth a treasure trove to each specific individual. “ Miss harper, I’m amazed that such a woman of your caliber was actually expecting me, a man you never met. “ Shaw would then take a seat across from her with the drink in his hand, the black gloves he wore were pretty apparent. “If you know who I am, you must also know why I’m here, correct?”

Kate's lips curled coyly at the man as she spoke, "My dear, flattery won't always get you everywhere. My awareness of your existence is only a matter of course. I have received my reputation for a good reason."
She seemed very sure of herself. To Shaw, it was difficult to read her. Even while sitting, she exhibited a maturity and poise that was well beyond her youth-like appearance could offer. Perhaps, she wasn't quite human. Or was she? The girl has always been quite the enigma in this city. The girl continued to examine Shaw. To the swordsman, it would feel as if he was being put under scrutiny through a magnifying glass.
As Shaw finally sat, Kate let her hands finally rest on the table as she continued to beam that faint smile of hers. "I am aware. Unfortunately, the man you wish to meet is at an errand as of this moment. He should return soon."
She shrugged her shoulders at him. The youth never seemed to be apologetic of Nogami's current absence. Though she did seem to be a little bit annoyed with that slightly twitching eyebrow. With the roll of her eyes, Kate washed her hands of the matter. There was no need to continue to be bothered by it.
"I must say," she began again with her soft cheek resting on her propped up right hand on the table, "your bout with Mister Shibuya has caught the attention of many. Are you going to be alright, dear?"
The attention was definitely focused on Shaw and whoever Asher was. But for the unfortunate former, his affiliation with his School already would get him attention both wanted and unwanted. With that look on her face, she looked rather interested in Shaw's fate.

An errand? Its’s safe to say that if you are able to speak so casually about the man in question, he must be affiliated with you in some sort of way?” Maybe this meant that Shaw didn’t have to look so hard to find this expert swordsman after all. Only time would tell if the man would show up, but if his hunch is right, the ma would appear soon enough as long as he stuck close to Miss Harper for the time being. Though, Shaw raised his eyebrow when she mentioned his bout with Kogami.
The Martial Arts Correlation isn’t a stranger to friendly bouts of competition. It was nothing personal of the sort, we all strive to grow and improve in our own respective field. Its only when someone tries to look for more than what it truly is..that trouble seems to follow behind. “ So she knew about the bout with Kogami too? Though something about her words made him feel a little uneasy. Did something happen afterwards? “ If you are asking about my injuries, I wouldn’t say its anything I can’t work with. But if you are referring to something else….

The girl let the right corner of her lip curl even deeper into a lop-sided grin at his question. "He's my pet. My mongrel," Kate said with a smug smile, "Bark, and he barks. Kneel, and he kneels. Of course, he can be a tad troublesome from time to time. But as a generous handler, I tend to let some of it be overlooked. It wouldn't do well to be a cruel tyrant to my pet, don't you think? Don't mistake me, but I do keep a tight leash when I have to."The aide that was cleaning up the glass raised an eyebrow at her claim, but shook his head and didn't bother to get into this conversation. He was just a stand-in for the usual bartender. No point in starting any trouble. Of course, Shaw likely won't catch his expression since the aide's workplace was situated farther behind the swordsman. Kate glanced back at the laptop she had been typing away for some time even before Shaw came in. It was only after Shaw mentioned about the Coalition that prompted her small hand to touch her lip as she contained her mirth to herself. Amusement continued to grace her features as she spoke, "Martial conflict, good or bad, is what defines the Coalition after all. But it has always been an interesting sight to see those elders come together and sling arguments at each other in the manner of self-serving politicians. All that rhetoric of morals and ethics and the agendas to expand their own clan's influence through all their pettiness... That contradiction, with their respect for strength, intrigues me."She seemed to be imagining some scene in her head and shook it as if to dismiss that memory away. As amusing as that scene was with all these old venerable men of martial skill and power spent the rest of their lives fighting over each other like teenage girls in their cliques, she still had a visitor to attend to. "Mister Shaw, I am wondering. What will you grant me in return for Nogami's services?" A Cheshire smile greeted Shaw as she asked him. A certain someone's words should be ringing in the swordsman's head right now.

“I see…” There was no need to comment on the fact that she saw Nogami as a puppet Shaw hardly knew of the man, it was Kogami that vouched for his skills. However, if Miss harper had much control over him, perhaps she could persuade him to teach Shaw as well? When Miss Harper started to talk about the coalition, maybe it was faint, but it seemed as if she had a little more ties to the group than just knowing about them as an actual informant. It could be because of Nogami perhaps, but it is all speculation for the time being. “Is it that intriguing to you? I feel as if their diplomacy could use a bit more work, but some progress is better than none.” Though, when it came down to what Shaw was willing to give, he had to come clean. “Something of equal value. I came here with the intent of paying you off, but after talking with you, you are obviously not that kind of woman. So something of equal exchange for Nogami’s services is in order, whatever that may be that you can judge for yourself.

"Tut tut, Mister Shaw," Kate waggled her index finger at him with a teasing accusatory tone, "You must think me as a shallow lady if you thought money was going to sway me so easily."Of course, Harper does collect money for her services from time to time. But now, it seemed to be a special case of its own. What exactly could Shaw provide her, which the man likely would be wondering right now. Though, the girl sighed at him, as if disappointed. She had expected him to actually do the offering himself. He was a gentleman, right? What a bore. "My. Very well, dear sir. You shall employ yourself under me as Nogami does for the duration of your education. How does this sound to you?"

Shaw maintained eye contact as he went through what Miss harper said about Nogami before, as well as the fact that she didn't seem to value the swordsman as his own person. Nogami was either a slave or something of less importance than her own life. Even though there is nothing wrong with prioritizing your life, was that how he was to be treated? "...." Maybe it didn't matter, it was always a price to pay for Something as crucial as finding a proper trainer to take up the responsibility of teaching Shaw. "Fine then, I accept. For the duration of my tutelage, my services are yours for the time being.

"Wonderful," she clapped her hands together in satisfaction, "I shall be looking forward to seeing how well you work under my wing, dear. I'm sure your senpai will be pleased."Harper looked rather pleased at this development. While she wasn't exactly always looking for new members to recruit under her, having someone new did at least make things a little bit more interesting. One could say she just had a lot of time on her hands. The girl started to think what kind of fun games she could force on her new toy. But the ring of bell on the opening door alerted her of someone's presence. What entered seemed to be a man of Asian descent. Reaching a near five feet and eleven inches, he seemed to be garbed in black with a dark cap on his head. Most noticeable was the sharp features on his face, the sheathed end of a blade poking out of his dark cloak below him at an angle, and the sharp and crooked bangs along the side of his face. "I see we have a visitor." Kate flashed a smile at him, already causing the new arrival to shrink his stony expression into a soft frown. It was already by now that he knew that this little vixen had something planned for him as she giggled at him. "Alright. What now?""Nogami, you came at the right time," she replied with a twinkle in her eyes that caused the swordsman to grimace, "You remember when Kogami fought with two Ki Artists from the Coalition and was wounded? Meet your new kouhai, Yiaster Shaw. He'll be working with you from now on."He blinked at her and then at Shaw. For a moment, he stared at his new partner as if studying his features. But even deeper than that, he was studying how well he would fare in battle. It was only after that moment that he sighed. This was going to be troublesome. "You have my sympathies and my preemptive apologies for what shenanigans Kate will force on you." "H-hey!"

As soon as she got around to saying what she did, it seemed as if Nogami managed to show up right on cue. He was a peculiar man and it seemed that he was from asian descent of some sort. With that being said, it seemed as if the man has gotten quite used to Miss Harper's usual schemes, something that Shaw has never experienced himself before. Only time will tell when that will be, and it might even be sooner than he thinks. They made eye contact for a moment, it seemed as if he was studying Shaw for quite some time, but there was not much to reveal besides his own weapon, features, and the choice of his drink. After taking a sip, Shaw replied with a nod. " Well, at least you two are on a first name basis. Regardless of what Miss Harper has in store for me, or the sake of my own martial arts education and such, I'll be sure to succeed in the majority of my endeavors. My only guarantee is my unwavering determination, but I'm open-minded enough to know that there is more than one way to skin a cat. " After taking another sip, Shaw moved his glass around a tad. "So, when do we get started?"

"You're committed and quick to get to the job. That's good. It'll make things easier," Nogami remarked with an approving nod as he ignored Kate's scowl at what he said earlier. He finally moved near Kate's side and leaned against the thin pillar near the booth that both Kate and Shaw were sitting in. The man seemed rather content to stand than to sit. His posture and his face revealed a guarded, yet relaxed expression. It almost seemed as if he were a ward. Perhaps Kate's words about him as a pet weren't too far off, yet their apparent relationship seems to suggest something else than mere obedience. "Well? What do you think of him?" the girl asked Nogami with an eager expression forming on her features. "A bit too soon to be asking for an evaluation, don't you think?" the swordsman raised an eyebrow at her which prompted her to cutely pout in frustration, "We'll see in due time. Then again, being a student of the same school as I, I'd like to hope he knows the expectations that are expected of him. Isn't that right, Mister Shaw?"He looked back at Shaw for a response. They were Ki Artists, but ultimately a member of a powerful Ki Arts style that had a huge say in political matters; to show weakness would no doubt smear the school's reputation. Both Shaw and Nogami knew that and would also know that training tended to be rigorous and the expectations to excel and make a name for themselves were there. Nogami continued, "I have to say, hurting Kogami for even a tiny bit is quite the feat as it is at your level... if only you did it alone and he wasn't holding back."Whether Shaw took it as an insult or not, was up to him. Though his senior didn't seem to be that type of person. All it did show is that the expectations are high even then. He yawned tiredly. It had been a long day for this senior member of Shaw's sword style and he didn't seem all too eager to do anything else tonight. "I fought Kogami before once in Europe," he explained to his junior with now what it seems to be a droopy-eyed face, "We were at a stalemate. I remember barely slashing open his neck and him barely my stomach. It was... difficult. Not exactly what you want to call a clean fight."His face then soured at the fight back then. There was so much blood and his opponent was exceedingly elusive and aggressive. The Tiger and Crane stylist was a troublesome fighter to deal with. The scars on his stomach felt warm and frighteningly tingly upon that memory. It wasn't a good memory, especially when the one who dealt that wound was smiling like an insane man. "When we'll work will depend on Kate. She decides the time, place, and objectives. Come check in the Nest every night. And if you want training, we can use either the basement or the rooftop that I keep using for practice. Come in whenever you want to. Just call the bar number." He pointedly looked back at Kate to see if there were any dissent to what he said. She only smiled and said nothing. Taking that as it is, Nogami shrugged and started to leave towards the back of the bar. "Where are you going?" "Sleep. I spent far too long in the Weald. I'm going to collapse at this rate. Company management gives their thanks, by the way. Night." Before allowing Kate any other say, Nogami simply trudged away and disappeared through the door leading up the stairs. Kate rolled her eyes as he left.

"Of course, i know the position of our school and where it stands in the martial arts correlation. There are alot more consequences for failure that doesn't just affect me, but the clan as a whole and their standing. I know..." Shaw was well aware what he was in for, it seemed that the members of the one heaven infinite were watched under a tiny microscope. Every little thing that they do is being watched by other clans, and used as an excuse to rise in power. Shaw only smirked when Nogami mentioned that he didn't fight Kogami alone and Kogami was holding back. "A gap such as that is pretty big to cross, i'n not one for denying the help of a comrade. Asher Cole of the Iron Body School was quite skilled, i only wish i cut Kogami at least once. "Though Shaw was surprised that Nogami fought Kogami at full power, he even sliced Kogami's throat open. "And he's still alive after all of that, tenacious apparently. Is it safe to say that you two are equals in a sense?" If he is just as good as Kogami in his own respective art, Shaw knew to take into account how much he would be able to learn.
Though, Shaw was pretty clear with the agenda. Whatever Kate Harper has for them, its given to them immediately. Shaw was also given the instructons on when he wanted to train. However, Nogami soon went to bed and Shaw looked back to Kate. "He seems exhausted, did something happen i wonder?

While Nogami has already left for the evening, Kate nodded for him, "I'd say so more or less myself. He was such a wild dog, that Kogami. But I must say Nogami can take on his challenge."She seemed to be reveling in those same memories too. But perhaps there was a tinge of pride that could be seen in her eyes. Whether she was satisfied with her subordinate's abilities, that perhaps can be easily read. Though it's clear with Kogami's recommendation and Kate's support, Nogami was a capable swordsman of his own right. "He was spending the whole day in the Rip for a job. Can't blame him," she shrugged, "Such a hard-working boy. I'll let him take the night off."OOC: Sorry for short post.

"Alright...." Shaw finished his drink and then proceeded to give Kate his business card. This actually has two numbers on it, the first one is my cell phone, the second one is my office. "She doubted that she or anyone else that she knew needed therapy anyway, so it was safe to assume that Kate would only call Shaw's cell phone. "I might be here tomorrow in order to train with Nogami, but if you have anything for me , give me a call. " Shaw wasn't one to waste time, and he wasn't going to bore this woman with questions. It was apparent that she had alot to do,and so does shaw.
