Kate Harper: A mysterious young girl found residing inside the Nest of Regrets, a bar-cafe mix of an establishment that tends to be rather empty. Not many people come here for a drink. Though many come here for other reasons. Oddly enough, the bartender would not throw her out, but she seems much more than she appears. Of course, she is a handler of information and requests that circle around the city. Getting her attention for long can be difficult if she deems you not worth her time. Most of the time you will find her reading books or even worrying her tiny slender fingers away typing on a laptop inside the establishment.
Nogami Kotaro: Rarely seen at the bar, but always present. Nogami is Harper's ward. No one really knows what he does inside the bar. But he only shows up inside when Harper requires his assistance in dealing with some bothersome elements. His skills with the blade are impeccable. But they seem to resemble a very special kind of style that is very significant in the Martial Forest Coalition. He can be very imposing to speak with, but is very soft-spoken and deliberate in his speech. Of course, he is very protective of Harper.
Maria Smith: Easily one of the most bizarre sights in Lakecrest City, Maria is the minotauress owner of the city’s casino, Buck ‘n’ Wild Casino; having bought and renovated the city’s old discotheque into the icon of Mystic Kind it is today. Turning to the benign stereotypes in past human media, Maria’s kitsch casino themed itself after the inhuman races that were now trying to find their place in the world; striking a chord with both the human and Mystic Kind population of the city and promptly becoming one of the icons of the city as it gradually opened its gates up to the supernatural races of the world.
However, despite having made such a grand step so early towards making peace between the human and supernatural populations and a very healthy profit from the venture as well; Maria comes off as anything but a wise soul in person – ‘eccentric’ is perhaps the best word for her, but ‘idiot’ and ‘obnoxious’ often come to mind as well. Loud, brash, and perhaps the very personification of the minotaur stereotype of perpetual tourists – it is nigh-impossible for the lady to end a sentence without some sort of bizarre Wild West lingo, and even her casual costumes are always some Americana nonsense.
Even when it comes to more professional matters, Maria is still quite the energetic and troublesome person – but she can be serious when the chips come down. Having had to abandon her original home in the past courtesy of the actions of her husband, Maria holds a serious grudge against any prospect of courting; if not against males in general. Thankfully the years have let this bitterness subside a lot, but she is still known to be very picky about her company – and definitely her staff.
