It was evening and Asher was directly sitting around the Chess tables situated at the park. He had heard of the board game before and played it once or twice, but was never really adept at it whatsoever. Though finding a decent time to exercise his thinking. He would observe a few of the games going on at the moment. It seemed watching the pieces each one moved a certain way and they... Just kept going over each other or something. He would notice one of the players seemingly flip the table in a idiotic fashion over their newfound loss. Almost going as far as to chuck the chess pieces at the person they lost too. Man, people could really get riled up over such a simple game these days. The Cole had better things to do with his anger than waste it on something trivial such as this in the first place. Chess was supposedly a "calm" game as well. You couldn't really get angry in it or you'd make some big mistakes. Or at least, that's what he was told once. You had to keep your cool through most things in life.
Or maybe, just maybe you'd "lose your way" or some Sagery wisdom whatever.
Noticing the two people involved in said "incident" exiting the chess table. Asher would sit down at it after it had been fixed up by the one who decided to make an utter damn mess of everything just now. He might as well give this game a shot right?Even though he really didn't know much of what he was doing with it beyond the basics. He might as well preoccupy himself a bit with something more productive than gambling or any of the more "illicit" habits he noticed some people had.
Sitting for a while at this point. Anyone who was to come over to where Asher was right now would notice him nearly asleep at the moment, actually he looked pretty much bored out of his mind instead of sleepy.. He had some patience, but sitting here felt like forever nearly to the dragonkin. He'd wake himself up for a moment and look around. Place was still decently crowded and there was still nobody around where he went. Sitting back in the chair while others preoccupied themselves with their chess games. Asher simply waited with a bit of renewed patience for someone who'd preoccupy his time right now. Not like the guy would just fall asleep in public. God knows what people here do to the unconscious.

For how nice this city was at first glance, at times Raphael wished there was more entertainment around. He didn't get distracted very easily, but doing nothing and wasting time away was not really his forte, so in most cases he actually prefered some sort of distraction to come his way. People watching from the sides was fun for a while, but a lot of people were just boring compared to his standards, unless he got lucky. Then again, he wasn't human, so it wasn't surprising that he often found normal people not interesting enough to catch his attention effectively.
This particular evening, he found himself wandering through the city's park, looking for something to do that actually included meaningful interaction. Either with a living being or the evnironment at least. He was bored enough to go seeking some form of activity to engage in. But he certainly did not expect to walk into crowds of people playing...board games? He thought he's seen this particular game before, but that was about where it ended. For most of his life, he almost never engaged in human pasttimes of this kind. What's a board game with pawns to a werewolf, really? Plus, it was played sitting down, and that wasn't exactly his favorite thing to do. Amber eyes scanned the crowd as he loitered around with his hands in the pockets of his coat. Honestly, he was about to declare this another bore of the day, but then his gaze stopped on one guy almost dozing off at a table on his own. Hmm, this guy was...? He couldn't tell much by appearance, no, but he certainly knew this one was not your everyday person. Having good senses comes in handy sometimes.
Well, maybe it was worth the try. This seemed like the most entertaining find so far. He would proceed to walk up to the guy, giving him a faint smile. ''You alone?'', he'd ask, though he wouldn't make a move to sit down at the table just yet.
For reference: Name: Ki Sense Description: From being able to control the body's Ki, the user is now sensitive to Ki signatures around them. Through such sensitivity, the Artists can now sense people's presences by this and be able differentiate one signature against each person. The term "killing intent" comes from this as usually one's Ki rises with the intent to cause harm. All Artists have at least E rank at it and sometimes do not increase it as they are busy trying to perfect their fighting techniques. This is why some of them go to the I.A.C.S.B. for experience. Extremely high levels of this ability may even lead to a blind man being able to fight better than he could actually see if he had working eyes. Rank: E
Name: Ki Stealth Description: An ability to lower one's Ki levels closer to null as much as possible through harmonizing oneself with nature. This is what allows someone to become indiscernible from their environment when enemies try to seek them out through Ki Sense or through spells. This is something that not all Ki Artists use and some styles likely would not teach it. Unless these are clandestine styles that specialize in that sort of thing. Rank: E

Asher had still been sitting around waiting for pretty much anybody to preoccupy his time at this point. However nothing seemed to engage him until someone appeared to approach him. Then there was the matter of a random guy giving him a faint smile and saying hey. Oh hey Hello there. yeah I'm alone right now. Just waiting on someone to actually try this uh...Board game people seem to like for some reason yeah. Asher still did not understand the appeal of Chess to some and most of the people around him who were playing it looked rather sedentary at the time. Perhaps it was a game for the really patient. Or perhaps the really old. It was still evening on the frank. Sitting around was never in Asher's forte these days or back where he really lived either. However you know what they say.
"New City New Shit"
So what brings you around here?Asher offered to the guy that just approached him. Clearly there was something that brought him over just now to say the least.

Strangely enough, the guy didn't seem overly excited by the prospect of actually played said board game despite the fact that he was waiting around just for that. Somewhat ironic. ''You don't sound like the idea of playing excites you much.'', he would comment offhandedly, watching the other with slight curiosity. He found this situation a bit odd, but what wasn't in this world? You never really knew what kind of person were you talking with unless they told you, and playing it off with your senses could only go so far. Although it was still worth a try at least. Nothing to lose unless bad luck strikes, and said someone is more dangerous than is welcome.
He would brush a piece of stray white hair back behind his ear, ''I was looking for some entertainment, and you looked interesting enough. You're different from the others.'', he'd answer the given question in a fairly matter of fact way. It appeared that it would be up to the other guy to interpret that statement however he wished to. Frankly, Raphael was currently fine with any conclusion that could come out of that. And maybe the response he'd get would help him figure out just who he was speaking to, as much as he didn't exactly bet on it. People could be secretive if they wanted to, and there were sure plenty reasons for such.

Yeah this ain't really my style right now. I'm into more active things you know, but theres a saying some people got. "New City New Shit". So I'm in the meantime applying that. Not like it ever hurt to try new things am I right? It never really did hurt to try them. Despite if their very....Alien in comparison to what you are used to doing. Besides you never know if you'd actually like what you tried either. Then came the comment about how he was different. Asher was a little tense now around this guy. Maybe he was capable of detecting something about him because clearly. Asher just looked like a normal guy unless a person had other means of feeling something offa him like that Shaw guy did earlier. Entertainment Heh?What Kind? What do you mean by different from the others? Now he just had to wait until he actually gotta response outta em. Who knows where this would lead, but he didn't exactly have much reason yet to interpret him as hostile.
The keyword here being Yet.

''So you'd try something that is very likely to be boring simply out of principle? Mindblowing.'' In a somewhat amusing way. As a matter of fact though, he was mostly poking in attempt to draw out a more interesting response. As much as he wasn't sure what was he really after just yet. But to say the truth, the chess was definitelly not what was catching his attention from the beginning. Besides, he really didn't know how to properly play it, so it was most likely a waste of time to even try. Nor did it give the impression of being a worthy pass of time for someone like him.
He would end up rolling his amber eyes slightly as his statement was countered by a multitude of questions aimed at his motives. Someone was surely being straight to the point. Then again, he kind of was as well. ''Anything that can keep my attention from being bored.'' He didn't really have anything specific in mind when he came around, for he didn't even know for sure as to what all was available nearby. Not yet. Getting familiar with places took a bit of time. He would grind his teeth a bit. For some reason he felt like he wanted to chew on something right now. Maybe he should consider buying some gum sticks later. ''And I mean just what I said. You're not a normal person. I can tell that much.'', he'd respond to the second inquiry with a vague shrug of his shoulders. He seemed to be taking a laidback attitude towards the matter.

Yeah. To some people that can be a real shock. To be honest alot of people actually did not consider acting this way when it came to things. So..Now that he was thinking of it. Chess really was boring the hell out of him. Too much patience was required for it right now. He had some but now he had just been waiting here for like an hour or something. Asher would stand up at that point. Eh. Now this is just looking TOO boring. I don't know about others but I don't fancy sitting on my ass for a while. He wasn't that kinda guy anyway to begin with. Anything that can keep your attention? I guess you could say I'm looking for the same thing. I don't like to waste my time standing around much. Doesn't really help me out. I ain't really familiar with the area persay. All I know about this park though is...It's big.As much as he hated stating the obvious right now. Well from the looks of it I'd say you aren't so normal either I bet. Huh?This guy was clearly detecting something on Asher right now. So. He'd just play along and see what came out of this right now.

''I wouldn't know. I don't find it that shocking. I was just trying to see if I could get you to say something interesting.'' Straightforward indeed, but Raphael found no reason to attempt lying. Not about something as insignificant as this. So maybe he was bored enough to try baiting the guy in some way. No big deal. At least, he did not consider it so. And he was not a mind reader, so he couldn't tell what the other guy was thinking of the current situation. Most likely, he wouldn't care much even if he was. His lips would curl in faint amusement. ''You took a good while to realize that.'' It was one thing he could agree with though. It was too boring, and he had only recently stopped by. ''There's always the option of looking through the park to find something. You didn't have to stop at the first crowd you saw.'' Especially one that was buy playing board games.
''I suppose I'm not. But who is nowadays?'', he'd respond after a short moment of thought, deciding to keep up the game of maybes, since that's what it appeared to be becoming. He had the patience to wait it out afterall, so he wasn't too bothered. Although the guy could always leave and not tell im anything in the end. But there's a risk in every 'game'.

Well Pal sorry there. Guess your fresh out of luck in that department. He didn't exactly know what to really say to this guy right now. Well what can I say. Guess I'm a little slow feh. I'd already been through the park a fair bit. Not really much specifically here to do. You got a bit of a point there though. What is normal even supposed to be anymore? What do we even consider average at this point too? What really was average anymore, or normal. So many different races could be in one place with many different concepts of the idea of "normal". Though to the others it wouldn't exactly be considered that. Then came peoples different ways of life, living, culture, etc. Thinking about it was like taking a far too deep look into t hings. Perhaps Asher at the moment was really overthinking this right about now.
Some people would find this entire conversation rather strange haha. Then again. I take it neither of us is just "some people" it seems hm. So what brought you into the city?I just happened to try to settle around here. Well he might as well ask the guy something, Not like he was willing to stand around doing nothing here.

''Yes, I already noticed.'' It wasn't hard to tell that it would be a struggle to get something actually interesting from this guy just yet. So maybe he was out of luck, but this was still better than nothing. The subject of chess had been pushed off sucessfully enough, so it was some progress, if nothing else. Afterall, he haven't had actually plans of playing a game he barely even knew existed. ''I don't know what you find interesting. Maybe you could just jog around the park?'' Technically, it wouldn't be surprising that there isn't a whole lot to do. It's a park. By base, that should mean some nature, benches to sit on and the like. One could conclude that it wasn't the best place for seeking entertainment to begin with, as most people most likely came here to relax, rather than engage in some big activity. ''There probably isn't an average. I usually just consider humans the most normal, as they tend to be the least odd. To each their own though.'' There was no clear definition of normal anyway. Doubly so in this kind of world.
He would show a bit of teeth in a half-hearted snarl. ''It's a conversation. They can think what they want.'' It was none of his concern as long as someone did not actually try to butt in and be a pain. ''I'm sort of a wanderer. I decided to stay around here for a while. The place seems surprisingly peaceful for the kind of population that hangs around here.'' Then again, did it matter who was here? People normally wouldn't be able to tell. Otherwise he couldn't just walk around like that either.

Jog around the park?I wouldn't mind that if you yourself were interested as well. I am a pretty active guy after all. While we're at it. What's your name?Hey, didn't want to be complete strangers or somethin right now. To me there never really is an average. Though, that'd depend on the area to be honest. Place like here, you can't really gauge that. Humans though. They tend to be some of the most "normal" I guess you could say. Then there was the teeth and a bit of a snarl. Judging from this guy he wasn't exactly human maybe. Given his behavior and how he was acting right now to Asher. Though they wouldn't be explicitly stating their race to each other probably. Especially with some people to watch out for these days. You never know who's listening in and gonna suddenly take interest in you offa something like race.Ha. You seem a little eager to kick someones ass if they butted in right now.Offering a bit of a smile torwards the guy's "aggressiveness". Asher could level with him. As his own way of fighting was rather aggressive. However the difference being Asher could be very reserved until a situation called for...Otherwise.
A Wanderer huh?Eh I got a few bets saying this place won't be so quiet for so long. Silence never lasts too long. Someone's always gotta make a big fuss and break it.

Hm, would he? Well, he had nothing against moving around a bit, and it was already a fact that standing around or trying to play board games was boring. ''Fine with me. Anything's better than standing around and watching people play board games around you.'' At least dying of boredom wasn't a real medical condition. ''Raphael Kinn. You?'' Names, right. That was fine with him. Not like a name said much besides giving something to assign to a face. ''Then don't search for one. Average matters little in the end, since only few people would fall into its range anyway. It won't help you predict anything.'' Even if there was an estimated average, a lot of beings were under or over it, and you couldn't tell. Finding the golden middle route was pointless from that angle of view.
He would smile thinly. ''Only if I had to. Fighting isn't really my forte unless it's a must.''His main focus was elsewhere, and while he would defend himself when needed, he was not too eager to pick a direct confrontation with someone. Well, a normal human would be no big deal, but you honestly don't know what you are dealing with a lot of the time. ''Maybe. Only time will tell. Are you looking forward to chaos?'' There was no saiying how long a peaceful atmosphere could remain, but forever was certainly not an option.

Heh yeah I never really have any problem with a little moving. He would say going forward now and motioning for the guy to follow him. If he didn't. Asher would go off for a bit before stopping had Raphael not moved with him. So Raphael Huh?My names Asher, Asher Cole.Well great. Now they actually knew each other a little better to say the least. Yeah. Wasting time searching for average doesn't exactly yield any results that would be productive.
Fighting isn't really your forte? You seem a little like a fighter to me to say the least. I don't know. It's just like you got a bit of that air around you. I myself am a fighter actually.Asher was a directly confrontational guy who was ready to handle whatever came at him. Though he wasn't going to go around picking fights like an idiot would. In a world like this you could have everything and lose it in under a minute being stupid like that. This wasn't really a safe world despite the initial look of everything. As for Chaos. Heh. I'm not exactly one for that. Though... Something going on I don't mind.

''Good.'' The response was fairly simply as he made to move after the other. It was certainly better than standing around, and it really did not change much in terms of conversation. It shouldn't. ''A pleasure.'' He'd make a note to remember at least. He didn't really have many notable acquaintances to keep track of anyway, as he didn't always bother with extending the courtesy unless the other side showed interest first. In which case he would generally humor them, but otherwise he was often content to just go back and forth as he pleased. Nevertheless, if he was going to hang around this city for a while, might as well keep track of the people he happens to meet. Can come handy in case things start going south for whatever reason. ''Maybe if you care about estimates.'' But frankly, only a fool bothers with that when faced with an opponent they need to somehow take on right there and then.
Heh, really? ''I'll bite if it comes down to it, but I never focused on perfecting combat. I prefer to stay out of sight, and do things my way.'', he would answer nonchalantly enough. It did seem to do him some good at least, seeing as people generally couldn't figure him out easily, while he had luttle issue doing so with them. On the other hand, he was aware that picking up fighting knowledge may be useful eventually, but it's not like he was going to magically spawn the knowledge. For now he'd deal with what was. He could always resort to confusing the opponent and dissapearing out of sight in case a situation got bad for him. Tracking him down wouldn't be that easy when he did not want to be found. ''Doesn't everyone? Things get boring without some action.'' Sometimes.

Yeah. Real Pleasure to meet you too.Well nice. Now he actually knew somebody in this rather strange foreign city. It was nice to actually meet people. Some things you just didn't want to face alone. Especially with how potentially chaoitc things could get sooner or later. If I wanted to care about estimates I'd be an accountant Raphael. Though that's the last thing I'd ever work in. Crunching numbers just ain't my forte. Sitting behind a desk all day working in "economics" sounded pretty damn boring to Asher at the least. Then again who could really afford to enjoy sitting around either? It was terrible, especially with all the health disadvantages it came with either. People were not born to just sit on their asses all day.
A bit of a sneaker then huh?I don't mind being in sight, though I ain't exactly the type to just flaunt myself out there. Make yourself too obvious and you'll definitely attract the wrong kind of attention these days. Especially with some of these loonies we got going around. You never know who will come at you. There were racists of all kinds everywhere, alongside people who just downright wanted to start things with you for absolutely no good reason. In a world like this you had to be careful. Yeah. There is such a thing as too quiet.
